Rowan decides to accept her for his match and to protect her. This causes trouble from day one and it brings out the protectiveness in Rowan. He decides to get to the girl she once was and then make a final decision.
Her ex gets hooked up with a militia that is against the Program and they coach him to go to the press. She doesn't know until Dr. Wise I forms her how much trouble she has caused and she decides she is done being a victim and go to Loren to go to the press herself. She keeps this from Rowan because she knows he will try to talk her out of it, like he did with getting good a job off campus.
While she is gone Rowan also finds out what Dr. Wise wants her to do so it is a very bad day for him. After they fight about it she leaves. He goes after her and things between them get worked out.
This is a very sweet emotional journey between these two and the Program goes through some changes. You'll want to read this.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Desperate Match is book 5 of the Coded For Love Series by Lynne Silver. It can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend that you read them in order to meet the entire team of men from the program.
Rowan Blacker has decided to throw his hat into find a match even though he's a new addition to the team, he's Adam's brother who has been training him for quite awhile. He does wonder if not having an arm will turn off his match or could it not matter to her once they meet.
Jill Thompson has been married to Jack for six years and every one of those years were abusive. She hears that the Program is looking for possible matches to their men and she escapes to the library to put in her name for a match. But will she be able to leave her husband without him finding out?
Once Jill is notified that she has matched with soldier, she plots to escape and meet her possible mate. Rowan and Jill meet and they decide to take it slow to discover if they are true matches. However, her husband has a devious plan to try and get her back. Everyone at the Program compound is very leery but protective of Jill once they find out what has happened during her marriage.
I loved how the women (or match) of the previous books rally around both Jill and Rowan and how they come up with a plan to finally break free from Jack Thompson. All in all this was a great addition to the series plus there is a snippet of book 6 featuring Shepherd and his possible match.
'Desperate Match' by Lynne Silver is book five in the "Coded for Love Book " series. This is the story of Jill Thompson and Rowan Blacker. This is a standalone book but it does reference some of the other books.
Jill has been married to her abusive husband for about six years. Jill starts to work out a plan to get away from him by joining 'The Program' of elite soldiers who were built generically to be strong soldiers. If Jill DNA match with one of the soldiers she would be his mate.
Rowan has been with the program for about a year. Rowan has never really felt like he was a part of the team / nor fit in with the team. So decided to join the group of men looking for the DNA / life mate partner. Rowan does have an issue with his arm being missing and when he first meets Jill he thinks she was taken back by it. This had a really emotional story of abusiveness, disability overcoming and just falling in love. Great Story.
Jill ran from her abusive husband to the only place where she knew it would be safe....The Program. Now with her match, Rowan, wants to help her and give her the time she needs to heal from the abuse she experienced from her husband, Jack, who is a snake.
I love series. Getting to read about previous characters and learning what they are up to is a favorite of my. This series is a must read. I have already read Book #6, First Match, and loved it, too.
I give this book 5 out of 5 stars.
