I had the pleasure of meeting the author of this cookbook earlier this year at a food blogging conference in Miami. Dorothy is as sweet as the desserts in her book! I've been a fan of her Crazy for Crust blog for quite some time now so when I was asked to review her book, I jumped at the opportunity. Dessert Mash-Ups is exactly what you expect — a crazy collection of all your favorite desserts mashed up!! I love the concept of taking two totally different types of dessert and combing them into one even more delicious creation. My favorite chapter is "Cookies, Brownies and Bars Together At Last!" The best baked goodies are mixed together?! Gimme!!! Dorothy uses lots of your classic flavors — S'mores, Peanut Butter, Rocky Road, Cake Batter — and makes them even BETTER than their original form. Seriously, how could you resist something called Truffle-Topped Brownies?

No matter what kind of dessert you prefer, you will find it in this cookbook. Cheesecakes are made into brownie bars and sandwich cookies, pie is turned into fudge and cupcakes, and fondue is amped up with peanut butter cookies. There are Brookies (brownies + cookies) and Sconuts (scones + donuts), and even a recipe for All Butter Pie Crust, something I definitely will be using!

Dessert fanatics rejoice — this is your new go-to cookbook!

The desserts are the perfect mash-up of deliciousness without being too totally over the top. The thing I loved most is the book is that every recipe was matched with a picture. I cannot begin to tell you how hard it is to sometimes visualize what the finished product should look like. This book is full of full size beautiful pictures, you will love it! I also love that the book has easy enough recipes that I can get my niece in on the fun too. My favorite chapter is by the far the sweet dessert dips. How can you not love dessert in dip form?
