About the Author
After running several successful businesses, Lori Osterberg decided it was time to reinvent herself once again. Facing an empty nest and too much normal suburbia lifestyle in front of her, she talked her husband into selling off their 3300 square foot home, sell two-thirds of their stuff, all for the chance to slow travel the world. When not traveling, she finds a friend or two to share a good bottle of wine, visits tea factories, dances the night away at outdoor concerts, eats her way through farmers markets, and daydreams about the next set of characters she lives vicariously through. She’s currently writing books and living the dream in the Pacific Northwest. Follow her at LoriOsterberg.com

Casey Collins thought she had everything going good in her life. Little did she know, life seldom goes as planned. The marriage she thought she had is ruined once she finds out about her husband's affair. Her beautiful baby girl is all grown up now, and she has just dropped her off at college in LA, more than 1200 miles away from their home in Denver. There will be no chance of just going for a quick visit whenever she wants to. She is happy for her daughter, but is struggling to let go. Needless to say, her life is far from perfect. Casey is at a crossroads, and she doesn't know what to do next. All of that changes while waiting to board her flight. TravelVentures Magazine has a spot set up at the airport to promote their magazine, specifically a monthly column called "Destination Roulette." Curious, Casey walks over to find out more about it. She has the opportunity to spin the wheel to go on a dream destination vacation for a week. The only catch is that she has to be willing to go immediately, literally within the next hour. The trip sounds wonderful...free first-class airfare, all traveling accommodations will be set up and paid for, and she will have a personal guide for the week. The only thing expected of her is to blog about her experience while on the trip. Sounds good, right? Now all she has to do is spin the wheel to see where her dream week will be...
Jordi Muriel owns a successful real estate and travel business located in the beautiful city of Barcelona. He wants to expand his successful business to an international level, and signs a contract with TravelVentures magazine to help do just that. He has just received a phone call to inform him that his first VIP client is arriving, and he will be her guide for the week. All Jordi has to do now is make sure that his client has the time of her life, after all, he wants to make a good impression for TravelVentures.
The story that unfolds is pretty amazing. In addition to be well-written and well-executed, the story is full of humor and true-to-life moments. I loved the character of Casey, and felt I could relate to her very easily. She isn't perfect, but she is definitely human. I loved her reaction when she initially meets her guide for the week...definitely a funny moment. The writing style of the author makes you feel as if you know the characters, and I loved the detail used to describe Barcelona. If only TravelVentures really had a promotion like the one in this book...I would be at the airport in a heartbeat, spinning the wheel. And if I ended up with a guide like Jordi, well then, that would be even better! Seriously, this was a unique idea, and one that instantly had me wanting to see how it all played out. This story was funny, intriguing, and definitely well laid out. I loved the concept, as well as the characters. Overall, this was an amazing read! I would definitely recommend this book.
