All the information provided is information that you would learn by doing less than 5 minutes of simple research online. They increased the font size and the line spacing to avoid having a five page book. I read it in less than 15 minutes and didn't learn anything that I didn't already know. I also purchased and would suggest buying the Wedding Destination for Dummies book before ever considering this one. This book is definately one of the worst ways to spend $20. I think they put this on the market just to recover the cost of their own wedding. The positive reviews on Amazon were most likely left by their friends and family members and whomever else may have benefitted from the sales. I wish I could get a refund because I'm currently using this book as a bookmark for the Destination Weddings for Dummies book that I'm reading.

Horrible, don't waste your money

This book is absolutely awful. Do not waste your money. I believe all the good reviews are from the author's friends and family. The book pretty much tells you to use the internet to conduct research on destination weddings. Seriously, didn't think of that. I am currently in the beginning stages of planning my destination wedding and this did not provide me with one take away. I bought this book instead of others due to all the good reviews. The book is also 75 pages and is written in about a 2 inch font. It looks like something a four year old would read. It is more of a brochure than a $20 book. Seriously don't waste your money like I did. Keep you money and some free advise- use tripadvisor.com to research locations and resorts and work with a travel agent... That pretty sums up anything the book would tell you.

Poorly written, little content and waste of money.

This "guide" was poorly written,odd wording. (Almost broken English)
The information is worthless.
I dont need to spend almost 14.00 to have the author tell me to go to [...] for planning ideas.
For information regarding hotels she suggests you visit [...]
Are you kidding me?
Not even sure how this booklet got even one favorable review.
This book is going right back to Amazon.
On the bright side, it gives hope to anyone hoping to make a quick buck on information.
You apparently dont have to do it well, to succeed.
Ms Ortiz, I'm not happy with my purchase.

not worth the money

I got this along with a few other books and ended up returning this one. The font was large and the book was very thin...although I didn't end up getting another destination wedding book so I have nothing to compare it to, but I'm sure there are better books out there for the price.

HORRIBLE BUY

This book is TERRIBLE. I read the reviews and decided that because it was so much cheaper than other guides, I would chance it and give it a try. So stupid. All the positive reviews have to be done by family, or the author themselves. I mean, it's super sketchy that most were all done around the same time.

Let me wrap this up by saying I'm the person that gives "just okay" restaurants three stars on Yelp. I, however, don't feel bad at all for rating this one.

I could go on and on about this book. It wasn't edited, has INCREDIBLY poor formatting and is basically a glorified pamphlet. Please don't do what I did and buy this book. The author doesn't deserve the royalties.

Waste of money

The glowing reviews on here must have been written by the author's friends and family. The only useful bits of info I got from this book were two website addresses that I more than likely would have stumbled across myself. Also, it is VERY short, especially when you consider the huge font size that was used; I read the entire book in less than 15 minutes. Also, the author focuses on beach weddings, which I am not really interested in for my own destination wedding.

This book really helped me a lot

I have a few "wedding" books (everyone gives u one when u get engaged) and its like they all say the same thing over and over but this one actually tells you different things about planning a destination wedding which I am finding is so different from one back home. Its such a fast read THANK GOD becuz it just gets down to business, I sat down and read it cover to cover and I felt like i had all the "insider" information not- I love how this author actually had her own destination wedding and she doesn't talk about all the fluff just kinda tells us scared brides exactly what to do to plan a really good wedding far from home so yes, my review is 100% happy to have found this book. i cant imagine any other book would have details like this one does, this is a must read for any bride planning a wedding far from home - i'm passing mine onto my roommate too!!! this gets 5 STARS WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!!!!!!
