Great book! It did made me angry, sad and happy throughout the whole book but I feel that that makes a author a great writer.
Loved it! Sucked me in right away in the first chapter!
She also soon discovers that her bestfriend is pregnant and has dropped out of College. To make matters worst is months after this incident, JJ is in for a shocking discovery of her own.
With everything that JJ has gone through, her character is shown to resilient as she is a survivor. This is a novel with several heavy topics and in the end have proven to be triumphant. This tells us that life is what we make it out to be, especially with how JJ turned her life around.
Samantha March is a first time author and her first novel Destined to Fail is truly impressive. I managed to read this within a day and a half as the story was very easy to follow and at the same time, I was absorbed into finding out how JJ would deal with a particular challenge as I had to find out more especially after everything she's been through. The novel ended in a high note, it was satisfying and uplifting. I loved that the last part of the book, the title was tied in and converted into a possitive.
I did some what enjoy reading the book. It touches on a lot of hard, tuff and some would say controversial. But in this day and time, mostly fits with loose emotions, and the result of choices you make have consequences.
Mix feelings, abuse, fear, some very very scary life situations. How do, or what do, or why, why, why? All the tears and mixed emotions that author Samantha March has placed with in the pages of this book were hard in some places to read due to you just want to pull the college age main character Jasmine Jones as she falls deeper and deeper into life that all the choices get harder and harder to make.
The only thing I felt was all the pain which I know how real life can be, but there were a few times I was unsure how much more I, myself could read. Hard Hard Hard. No, if you think that things like this happened to me personally, it was just so hard to read and realize at the same time that things like this could go on. And there were just a few times that the story was depressing because of that.
So due to the above, I am giving this book the Breath of Life Rating of:
Four Clock Rating!!!
