How customer reviews and ratings work
Customer Reviews, including Product Star Ratings help customers to learn more about the product and decide whether it is the right product for them.
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzed reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I was pleasantly surprised when the book arrived. It was actually in what I considered new condition. At any rate, the delivery was very timely and I am very pleased to have this addition to my library.

I had the honor to meet Erik Shilling in east Los Angeles before he passed away. He was kind enough to autograph his book for me.
As it happens, he used to take me flying on his lap when I was 18 months to two years old. He was married to my mother for two years before he joined the AVG.
So I'm a bit biased, but I still think the book is a great one.

A few years ago (around 96'), I had the luxury and luck to find myself, at the age of 12 to be in contact with Erik Shilling. During that contact, which lasted for several months, he went to the extraordinary lenghth of sending me his book -for free!! Autographed, it is one of my most treasured possessions.
I have read it and re-read it dozens of times since then. It sits on my bookshelf in the good company of General Robert L. Scott's books (The Day I Owned the Sky, God is My Co-Pilot, Runway to the Sun, Flying Tiger: Chennault of China), Gregory "Pappy" Boyington's Baa Baa Black Sheep, and Frank S. Losonsky's Flying Tiger: A Crew Chief's Story, among others.
If you ever have the great oppertunity and luxery of speaking to Erik Shilling, do so. And if you ever come upon his book, do not hesitate in buying it. I promise that you will not regret doing so.
