The war has only just begun
Humanity’s last safe city has fallen. The brutal commander of the Red Legion, Ghaul, has led an overwhelming force to victory, stripping the city’s Guardians of their power.
As one of the remaining survivors, you must venture to mysterious, unexplored worlds of our solar system to discover an arsenal of weapons and devastating new combat abilities. It’s up to you to lead the fightback, Guardian.
Building on the phenomenal success of critically-lauded Destiny, Bungie returns with a adventure and worlds and areas to explore in the ongoing war between the Traveller's chosen Guardians - mankind - and the relentless forces of The Darkness.
Stand together: Level up your Clan
Create and join your very own player Clan - banding together with those you trust - and rally behind a single banner to gain experience that will benefit all members.
As you progress, your Clan Banner will unlock perks and abilities that will make you and your team unstoppable.
Venture further: New worlds to explore
Descend in the embattled ruins of the European Dead Zone, an overgrown wasteland home to an opportunist House of Fallen marauders and the scattered refugees of the Red Legion's devastating assault.
Join the fight to reclaim your conquered home
From here, set off into the solar system and search for the last remnants of the Traveller's chosen among the desterted moons of Saturn and Jupiter.

Destiny 1 was it felt incomplete and broken as if your were sold 75% of a game at 100% of the price then forced to pay that price two times over to have the game eventually fixed over a series of years... IMO, Destiny 2 seems to be following in the foot steps of it predecessor...
It would be nice if game developers went back to the mentality pre 1999 and pre high speed internet when video games had to completed by the release date with out the option of fixing and patching or releasing the second half of the game over the internet.
However I do feel the game is short on content. You have three classes to choose from: Titan, hunter and warlock. While all are unique in their own way, you can play whichever class and not have to worry about things like team composition (if you do play with people that is).
There is a single player campaign that will get you to Max level, which can be done in about 4-6 hours if you run through it. After that all you have is one raid, Pvp, strikes (dungeons with a group of three), and nightfall (harder strikes with a timer). It's the good old mmo grind once you hit Max cap.
While I get that end game content can take awhile to populate...I don't think it would be much of a problem if there were more things to do in the middle before hitting Max level. It's basically a rush to end game And then waiting each week for everything to reset. There isn't much to do on the side except maybe Pvp and leveling and alt.
Though I wish there was more, I still find the game fun and play every week.
Paywall is not the only issue in this game, and because Eververse worked pretty seamlessly in D1 I would venture to say its a complete lack of effort. The real problem lies in the content in the original game and the ability to play for hours on end for the chance at exclusive gear. Now you are basically just grinding for something new, not something exotic.
Issues also lie in the community being so "youtube" driven now and too many kids saying D1 had no story and that it was terrible year 1. Realistically the game was always fun, and so even if it wasn't perfect, millions still played daily because it was....FUN. Now you have a bunch of sponsored reviews raving about how good Destiny 2 was at launch compared to D1 and that couldn't be further from the truth. I never "hated" grinding in D1 year 1, because the exotics were kind of worth the effort. Now I don't even care if I get an exotic engram because the game is bland and offers nothing to the player unless the want to play...Trials?...Rally?...Banner? This game has become a joke and anyone pretending either PvE or PvP is better is likely someone who also thinks that Call of Duty has made a good game since Infinity Ward was taken out of the mix.
I can't say enough about how much fun Destiny 1 provided me, and how utterly garbage this game is. And as much as I'd like to think it could improve with expansions, Bungie has clearly showed that they have no desire to make the game fun. It is mostly about making expansions with watered down content and lackluster events that offer recycled gear with nothing more then minor cosmetic tweaks. They are basically catering towards players that would rather pay $300 on eververse for all the "new" loot only to DDOS the entire crucible to the point where even the most loyal of Destiny players can't justify trudging through all the sh-t
