Great choice if you want to learn more about drawing details, plus the CD with DWG files is great.

Kindle version is not as helpful as book. you can't zoom into the details and there is no digital content that comes with the kindle version.

I subscribe to the idiom that you can never learn enough. My knowledge of the subject has been greatly expanded since the book arrived. I will be forever greatfull to the author, the publisher and the bookseller.

This book is Not about the Design and architecture but Explains how to get it done and what should be used and where.
So basically there is the structure and a couple of pictures of it. then there is a floor plan ( to scale) and finally the materials of the structure With the diagram of the structure in detail.
So u you don't just see the design BUT also know the materials he had built it with. You can actually relate it to another project and not wonder about the materials to be used then

The book is great but no bloody CD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The book is great but no bloody CD, stop falsely advertising this and other books in the 'Detail in Contemp Arch' series. I am assuming the hardback on comes with a CD... Do not order unless you can get confirmation that the book will have a CD.

Must buy!

I saw these in a shop for £30 - £40 and checked on here. £21 is a bargain for these books.
Lots of good details to help you get around some tricky detailing issues and all the details are on a CD so you can adapt and improve.
Wouldn't live without the set!

Detail in Contemporary Architecture takes the reader on a journey of pure concrete bliss. Combined with a CD ROM and design details, it helps any designer, architect, client to improve their understanding of what the complexity involved in something as basic a material as concrete.
Recommended in all architecture or design offices!

Good modern projects

Some very nice concrete projects on show here and nicely up to date. Some of the detailing is questionable as to whether the projects are actually built that simply but definitely one of the better books in this series. I would recommend this book.

I love concrete architecture, and this book gives you many fine examples, which include sketches, details and insitu photos. Was a great buy and arrived sooner than I expected (I think)! I love it!
