After having watched the movie, Detective Pikachu, I became very interested and curious about the game Detective Pikachu Returns. It's thoroughly enjoyable and has a fun storyline. There are plenty of twists and turns, and I found myself caught up in the excitement, frustration, and surprise of the characters. It especially makes me think of a mystery novel. I also really like the animation and music.
If you're looking for a calming and entertaining game, I highly recommend this one! It's perfect for all ages and even though it's single-player, anyone can participate in solving the mysteries--like a group effort.
As other have said this is a very easy game to play - but my son Loved it! And that's what's important. Lots of Pokemon interaction, a couple puzzles that made me stop and think and he was so into the game he pretty much only put it down to let his Switch recharge. And for me when he did. need help I didn't have to wonder what the heck was going on or where he went wrong - it was just do this, do that. I actually found it to be stress free assistance for him and he had a great time. So yes, it's an easy game to play but for us it was worth every penny.
