I have so many thoughts and opinions on this subject manner, but not against CJ for her writing the story. Im just curious how she is so educated on this subject manner. It's written with such intense passion and emotion for the characters. It's like she interviewed them each and wrote about their personal experience. It's wild.
I'm so uncomfortable reading Kid being broken by Celia and Felipe. Sex in this manner is uniquely strange. Kid relished in the desire and pleasure from sex, but never explored the pain vs. pleasure of it with both men and women. Its quite extreme what these people will put there bodies through just to reach a climax. How unsatisfying it must be to have to resort to torture and rape to seek an orgasm.
I'm truly disgusted and repulsed. Sorry but this treatment has reached a level that is not pleasurable but cruel.
I don't want Kid to learn to enjoy this treatment. Sex should not be bartered in this manner.
How horrible to be told you are a pretty boy and rewarded with humiliation. I could not imagine a life of nothing but sex. Eat, sleep, and sex all day and everyday. Not a very entertaining life.
I think I was expecting something different. This is not quite what I was looking forward to. This is a bit darker than I would like to venture. It's absolutely cringe worthy. I hope to never encounter people like Felipe in my lifetime and only get to experience this type of lifestyle through reading a book.
Men like Felipe don't deserve this pleasure. The way these men take without asking and break people into pliable puppets is degrading. Men like him should be sodomized as punishment for ruining people.
Felipe is a man unsatisfied with life and is always looking for ways to expand his empire and sexual urges, but men like him will never find fulfillment. Felipe will always want more and take more. Maybe the ultimate power to behold for Felipe is complete ownership body, mind, and soul of another human being. Felipe is selfish in being concerned with his own happiness over Kids.
After reading Celia's past story I have a better understanding for how Felipe and Celia are the way they are, but revenge was served and I'm still unsettled for the continue efforts to continue punishing people.
Kid really is a good, sweet boy. Felipe really does love him and his Celia. But most surprising was Celia's back story. I wasn't sure how to feel about her in Seduced in the Dark but I have a new found respect for her and what she's been through.
We get snippets of Caleb and Kitten but we also learn what Felipe and Celia really think of them.
All great stuff. Loved it.
Kid wakes up after being beaten to the tenderness and soft touches of Celia, Felipe's slave. After his parents were killed, he's yearned for someone to hold him and show him kindness. Celia is smitten with Kid and so is Felipe. They manage to get Caleb to gift them the boy as payment for staying at Felipe's mansion. As Kid's feelings grow for Celia, they grow for Felipe as well. It's been a long time since he has felt wanted and its obvious that both Celia and Felipe want him.
This story allows you insight to some of what Kid goes through once he arrives at the mansion. We see his fear, his confusion and finally his submission as he accepts his new life. You'll be surprised it's probably not as bad as you thought.
I really have enjoyed this series and was glad to get another story about these characters.
Yes, he was held against his will after being taken hostage by Caleb, but his situation quickly evolved into something entirely different. I was especially transfixed by his relationship with Felipe and the bond that was forged between the two. I was completely engrossed in their interactions. The tenderness and intimacy between the two men was captivating. I wouldn't have thought that I would have been drawn to the M/M elements of the story, but surprisingly, I was.
This book also answered some lingering questions that I had about Celia and Felipe's past and their motives to help Caleb. Celia, in particular, seemed to be personally vested in helping Caleb and Kitten. Reading Celia's story, provided a lot of insight into her nature and the, often confusing, relationship between her and Felipe.
A surprisingly sentimental story, I would recommend this to anyone that is a fan of the Dark Duet series. It is quick and highly enjoyable.
If you have issues with dubious consent, M/F/M or M/M situations, you probably aren't a fan of this series and wouldn't read it anyway, but be forewarned, these are all strong themes in this novella. For those who know what they're getting themselves into, enjoy!
