Great game for Wii U.

Really great game. One of the few grown up games available for the Wii U. Nice story and semi-open world levels along with challenging linear levels. Never experienced any performance problems referenced by other reviews. Highly recommended for those wanting to supplement chipper Mario with a dystopian future epic.

I knocked it down a star for the boss battles. Probably took me 100 respawns and 2 hours each to beat them. One of them I finally cheated and had to google how to beat it (and even knowing how it took 20+ tries!). I like a challenging game, but not to the point where you are just angry and frustrated.

Still, overall highly recommended

I'm a late comer to the Deus Ex series, but since it gets great reviews I decided to give DE:HR a shot on Wii U. I am generally not a fan of stealth shooters, but this game also offers a lot of RPG elements as well as a really good cover system for combat or just sneaking past enemies. I am doing a stealth-oriented playthrough as opposed to a run-and-gun, which is really testing my enjoyment of the game since stealth is not my srong suit or something I normally enjoy. Once the controls become familiar, it is a joy to slip between pieces of cover unseen, and the game is fairly generous with autosaves so you can restart just about any room to make sure you complete it to your liking. Planning on how to tackle a particular area is a lot of fun and the tense minutes while you hack a computer while the enemy's back is turned are pretty exhilarating.

I have also had a lot of fun with the story line so far, hacking computers and getting tidbits of info from emails and pocket secretaries. The thoroughly imagined world is a major help in the immersiveness of the story line. The player gets a real sense of being part of the future Detroit where the game takes place.

My only complaint so far is that if you choose to take a stealth-oriented approach to the game, it is difficult to develop much weapon proficiency by the time you get to the first boss. He is a tank, and will require you to make the most of each bullet and grenade in your inventory. This can be a frustrating revelation for someone who has spent the first 10 hours of gameplay barely firing a bullet and mostly doing silent takedowns.

Overall though, it is a well-designed game with a great attention to detail. Graphics could be a little better, but with the amount of content available in this game, there had to be a tradeoff somewhere. I would recommend this game to anyone who is getting bored with the typical first-person shooter and wants something that will take a little more thought, as well as a deeper plot and immersive experience.

Basic game play is incredibly fun with lots of emphasis on exploring and finding alternate paths/means to reach your goal. The game strains with it’s over ambition leading to some frustrating parts. The Directors Cut puts an acceptable band aid on those (infrequent problems) but the insertion of The Missing Link DLC Mission within the main game breaks the flow of the final act. But nothing gamebreaking.The Wii U edition is by far the best thanks to the implementation of the gamepad as a second screen. I've given it 5 stars as as the current price (16 dollars) is a bargain.

The game itself is wonderful, if a bit old. For the wii u edition in particular, the gamepad addition is very well done and does not feel tacked on. It's used for things like inventory management, upgrades, in-game books/letters/emails, hacking minigame, etc.

As for the game itself, it's very well done. The story sucks you in. It's an excellent conspiracy thriller with the constant eerie sense of something bigger going on and shadow villians who seem to have their hand subtly behind everything, leaving an delightfully chilling element of not knowing who to trust, while at the same time giving characters (such as Adam himself) who are very genuine, especially in contrast to the movers and shakers.

The game puts in minor but important details that are fun to find and add a lot to the world and characters. One example is an email interaction you can find where Jensen has requested that his landlord get him a new bathroom mirror. Nothing about this struck me as interesting about it until later when you find the landlord's response, questioning how the mirror would have gotten broken. If you look in Jensen's bathroom, it's clearly been punched in the center, giving a small insight into Adam's turmoil.

The gameplay is also fun. I haven't play the other versions but apparently this one "fixed" the boss battles so if you're like me and you upgrade stealth and hacking, you can now use those to turn turrets against the bosses, use environment traps, etc.

Overall an excellent game, great on the Wii U, and amazing for the price.

Worth it Especially if Your WiiU is Collecting Dust

I knew nothing about this. I have a WiiU and wanted to get more use out of it. I took a chance and ended up with a new game to add to my list of favorites. There is not a lot of titles for the WiiU. Assassin's Creed, Batman, and Deus Ex are the real deal and work fine on this system.

This game makes me feel sorry of the Wii U, for it stands out as an early example of what the console could have been. Having played the ps3 version when it was first launched, I don't think the Wii U version is inferior. Quite the contrary, the gamepad features are meaningful and the game holds its own in what regards graphics and gameplay. Playing this game on 2016, I do feel sorry for Nintendo, as the Wii U could credibly have been a compromise between first-party niche games and blockbusters - especially when you consider that many games of this generation are "definite editions" the Wii U could handle somehow.

Como ya dijo Diego, éste juego no se comercializó en México para Wii U (para Xbox 360 sí, por ejemplo), lo cual es una lástima porque ciertamente ésta es la Versión Definitiva: El minijuego de hackeo usando el gamepad es mucho más intuitivo y el mapa en tamaño "grande" es de mucha más ayuda que el microscópico estándar en la pantalla principal.

Las regiónes de Wii U para México y Estados Unidos es la misma, así que no importa si lo compran a Amazon EE.UU.

El único "pero" del juego es que el tiempo de carga es muuuuuy lento, pero eso pasa también con las otras consolas y PC.

Altamente recomendable tanto por el precio como por el juego en sí.

Siempre tuve curiosidad de este juego, y aprovechando que esta en amazon a un super precio no debes de dejar pasar la oportunidad, ademas, que este fin de año practicamente no hay juegos para la plataforma, es bueno conseguir titulos pasados, hablando del servicio, es donde le baje una estrella, ya que lo tube que pedir 2 veces, la primera ves no me llego, por lo que la segunda lo pedi con mas cosas para que me mandaran una caja, y si, efectivamente tuve mejor suerte, pues el problema es en la aduana, aunque al parecer ahi la abrieron y me cortaron la caja del juego como se aprecia en la foto, en conclusion es mejor pedir de varios articulos para que llege mas protegido todo.

Al iniciar el juego casi no me gustó por ser en primera persona, pero una vez que te acostumbras a los controles te empieza a gustar; es un gran juego en donde debes usar buena estrategia al jugar ya que toda acción que hagas influirá en el futuro.
