Have you ever read a book, seen a movie, or even met a person in real life that once you meet them everything falls into place? Everything, not all at once, started to fall into place for Evi once she met Max. The boy who she grew up with next door. He was the not who cared. He was the boy who held so many secrets like Evi.
I loved how author showed the perception Evi had with Garrett from the beginning and how it changed over time. It made you have that bigger aha moment along with Evi. I was reader saying oh no and damn. It was ugly but so beautifully done.
There were so many good quotes that I had to write down and ponder over or just remember because it made me do a reread.
Quote 1: You are beautiful, Evi. But love doesn't see with its eyes, hear with sound, feel, with touch; it connects with its mind, and once it does, there's no going back.
Quote: Remember the devil wasn't always shrouded in darkness Evi. He was once an angel.
Once you pick up this book, you will be like me. You won't stop until you read the end and what an ending.
This is absolutely one of Ker's lighter reads, but it still grips your attention, holding you hostage until the very last page. This book definitely doesn't disappoint. It shows how easily our mind can edit memories and alter realities to protect itself, making me seriously question Ker's - and my own - thoughts (and sanity).
Dare to take the plunge into this fun house. You won't regret it. It's worth every moment.
She takes you on the most incredible dark ride that you will hold on tight to the sides and not let go until the very last page.
You will meet Evi Devil and you will live in her "reality" and you will see what she is seeing in her mind throughout this whole book.
Her journey will take you down that rabbit hole with her but with every page you turn you hope she will climb out and find the person that has been hiding within herself.
Ker most definitely will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout Evi's story and I most definitely wanted to stay there until I knew how her story would end.
Evi struggles with her memories and what is real and what isn't. Garret and Max play important roles and there is a significant twist at the end. Not as dark as some of the other books I've read by this author.
Devil was dark, totally mind blowing.
Evi, you beautiful broken girl, my mind raced to keep up with you. To follow you down the twisted rabbit hole you buried and found again.
I loved the suspense. Not knowing what to expect.

The delivery of Evi was slow and lacking for me
