Liam is suffering from a case of indecision and anxiety, but a nearly fatal car accident with a woman and a child turns his life upside down. Sadie is determined to live her life in almost the exact opposite way her family lives theirs. They are all overweight? Well, she’s going to be skinny. They all spend a lot of time together? She’s going to move out on her own. It’s during one such rebellious run that she saves a child from Liam’s car. She ends up injured herself, which gives Liam the perfect excuse to spend more time with her.
These two, while initially abrasive and awkward, ended up grown on me. Sadie gets over her man hate and Liam ends up facing the majority of his demons. Oh, and there’s dogs! They really help smooth over some rough edges in this story. I’m eager to see where the next book goes, since they keep getting more and more interesting.
Here is where I have a major criticism of the story: one should NEVER buy a dog from a petshop!!! If you want a purebred with papers, go to a breeder where you can check out the parents. If you just want a particular breed but don't care about papers, almost all breeds have rescue groups that cater to one specific breed. (I got my purebred golden retriever from my city's shelter.) There are literally hundreds if not thousands, of places you can go to just adopt a good pet dog of all ages (start with the Internet). Also, most rescue groups, including the SPCA, hold adoption fairs (that's where I got my other dog who's a mixed breed).
The writing style is very smooth and the dialogue is sparkling and authentic. The characterizations, especially the angel's, are all wonderful and all the people (and some of the dogs) have distinct and three-dimensional personalities. The imagery is fantastic; it is vivid and realistic and my mental pictures were clear and sharp.
If you want a terrific love story with a touch of the paranormal, then I recommend that you read this one ASAP.
Both characters have had really traumatic childhoods and are very bitter towards members of the opposite sex until fate/angels intervenes when Liam hits Sadie with his car while flying down the road. She had saved a small child by shielding him with her body and Liam is beside himself with worry and tries so hard to make things right for all involved and obviously ends up falling for Sadie but she is not making things easy for him at all!
Then as we get deeper in the story begins to unfold the problems both had when they were younger and it gets kinda emotional there for a bit and on top of it all they must work together to solve a dog napping!
I read almost from start to finish it was so good and full of action and feeling I didn't wanna put it down!
Sadie is the running literally from her childhood past as the chubby girl. She harbors issues from the abuse she recieved from her peers about her weight as a child.
Liam harbors his own issues about his family and their dynamics and some traumatic memories from being a soldier in Iraq.
The two meet under stressful circumstances and with the help of a charming witty Angel attempt to save themselves, each other and the dogs Sadie loves to work with.
This story will leave you feeling thankful for those guardian angels and the twist at the end was great. I really did enjoy this story and couldn't put it down until I finished it.

Sadie is a beautiful, kind, caring, funny, intelligent heroine. Not without flaws but all the more lovable because of them. Liam is a hero dealing with issues that aren't allowing him to be all his capable of being. Watch them both fight to overcome the obstacles in their lives and find their way to love and to each other.
This book had me smiling, laughing out loud and at times brought tears to my eyes. Romance with the heavenly assist of a British angel! Sadie and Liam captured my heart from the start. Beautifully written, a joy to read.
Wait to see what happened next . Their is always that little
Twist at the end . I would definitely recommends it to
A friend. Carole.
