“His awkwardness only tripled when a female was within a ten-foot radius. He didn’t even have to see her. It was like his body sensed estrogen and folded in on itself.”
“Her long, dark hair fell in loose curls down her shoulders, and her iridescent-blue eyes made my brown ones feel like pebbles of dung slapped into sockets. If there were ever a girl to make you feel like crap just by breathing the same air, it was this one.”
“It was like seeing Bigfoot cross your path. Strange and eerie, and you spend the entirety of your life searching for it again because you can’t believe your eyes.”
“Allison Meyers, you faked explosive diarrhea for me? That’s the most disturbing and sweetest thing anyone has ever done for me.”
“Her ruby hair was pulled so tightly in a bun her olive skin stretched against her skull. It looked as if she’d run head on into a strip of saran wrap. And that permanent snarl on her thin lips, well, it would rival a rabid bulldog’s.”
I smirked, snorted, and laughed aloud while reading this smart and snarky little missive, what fun! Both protagonists are intelligent, witty, clever, insightful, misunderstood, stubborn, and outright mean - and they are perfect for each other. Their wicked smart mouths and conniving personalities are lethal weapons they use against each other while locked into a vengeful feud - due to a misunderstanding following a previous romantic encounter. A misfit music geek and a smart jock who likes art, what an interesting and dynamic pair. But I just have to profess my love for an author that has a star football player “squealing,” in front of his girlfriend, then screaming and running in terror from a spider web. K.F.Read more ›
Sydney Porter is that ballsy, sassy chick who once you meet becomes one scary person. You don't know if to love her or hate her. She's someone that isn't afraid to speak her mind and is a bit cynical. College student majoring in communications, she has a radio talk show where she bashes her fellow classmates without them knowing who she is since her anonymous name is Sunday Lane. But on top of that, she is an awesome DJ!!
Gray Peters is the QB of the football team and he crosses paths with Sydney once again. Fast forward three years and these two have slept together. She was a virgin and things didn't end so well. When they meet again Sydney seeks her revenge and it becomes a game of devious minds, of who could bring the other down better.
Throughout all the fighting feelings they both felt for another, sparks without a doubt flew. I couldn't get enough of Gray and Sydney!!
Sydney doesn't want to hurt anyone with the talk show broadcasting, especially her young brother Jack. Gray soon realizes that using Jack to seek revenge and uncover the true identity of Sunday Laney just isn't fun anymore. Can these two be together after all?
This book was a fun read and I truly enjoyed it. The author made me love all the characters equally. Some of the pranks being pulled were out of this world crazy!!! Bravo KF Germaine, I'm looking forward to reading all the books in this witty and fun series.
I loved this book! This story will have you laughing out loud, that I thought about getting myself some Depends. The banter and things Sydney and Gray do to one another will keep you reading all night long. These two are twisted (in a fun/good way) and I loved it. You will not be able to put it down. I’m not sure how KF even thought of the things she did while writing this. Devious Minds is told through both Sydney and Gray’s POV’s. They have a history and once they see each other again it’s game on! Their friends, roommates and family all add to this great story.
KF Germaine is very talented author and I’m glad I found her. I was lucky to answer when she was looking for a beta reader and couldn’t wait to get more chapters. I will be reading everything she writes as she has just become one of my favorites.

“I couldn't change our past, but I could sure as hell change our future.”
Devious Minds is a book that held no cover appeal to me, but when a trusted book friend recommended it to me I decided to give it a chance. This is the story of Sydney and Gray. When Sydney leaves community college and joins a four year university with her younger brother. Sydney is a tough chick, she's a DJ with tattoos and most people are honestly afraid of her. Gray is a football player and in charge of looking out for Sydney's younger brother on the football team.
Past tensions between Sydney and Gray are brought to the present and the two spark a series of pranks on each other that make the tension rise between the two of them. But as the two of them go on, one of them realizes their true feelings and one also goes too far with the pranks. One of them wants to turn their love/hate relationship into one only including love. But have the pranks gone too far?
Having never read this author before, I was impressed that from page one she sucked me in and grabbed my attention as a reader. This book had an excellent mix of angst and humor, both characters also having more to them than how they appeared to others. I also loved that Sydney was a bit of a "bad girl" and not just some innocent college girl who falls for the guy right away. She stood her own and it took more than a hot look for her to be swept away.
Gray made some mistakes along the way, but ultimately he had the best intentions near the middle to end of the book. I love stories where the guy chases the girl, where the guy recognizes the connection before the girl, so Gray was a great hero for my tastes.
There are so many great things about this book, so I recommend you give it a chance like I did and read it for yourself! I highly recommend for my fellow romance readers.

Maybe I'm just too old for this one.
It seems overly juvenile, the characters, the writing. But again, maybe I'm being unfair. Read more
