Well written. An authentic cast of characters. A lovely revisit with the Sanctum crew. An altogether enjoyable and entertaining read.
They are paired at Sanctum for a 6 week training course. They are so well matched, it is not long before Flynn knows she is the real deal.
He finds out her father found out her D/s life, and wants to take control again, and expose her. He wants to run her out of her own company, and ruin her reputation, sell off her company, and reap the rewards of her hard work.
She finds out he is not just a coder nerd, but the owner of her rival company, threatening to take her company over, and destroy her company, and leaves him.
He makes one of the most honourable, and bold moves to prove to her he loves her and will do anything to keep her. He is her knight in a pocket protector!
I LOVE the Masters and Mercenaries series, and Lexi does not disappoint with this one.
Once again Lexi Blake proves why I absolutely ADORE this series! It has everything I love in a book, no matter the size…a great plot, amazing characters, passion, chemistry, smoking hot sex, laughter, a little angst, love, and an unbelievable happily ever after! Flynn and Amy are dynamite. They are paired up at sanctum as training partners and Flynn is suspicious of Amy, as he knows who she is. She, however, has no clue who he is in the business world. But, their instant attraction can’t be denied and they build on that and it works for both of them. He becomes her safe harbor and he finds he can’t deny how much he wants her, no matter how much he thinks she may be playing him. They have a sweet and passionate relationship that is rooted in BDSM but it is not as hardcore as some of the other relationships I’ve read in this series and I really, really like it. It worked well for them. However, when Amy finds out who Flynn is….WOW, watch out! You don’t want to miss reading this. Flynn makes a sacrifice that makes me swoon so make sure you pick up this book! I enjoyed very much catching up on a few glimpses into the lives of other characters from past Masters and Mercenaries books. Overall this was a quick and enjoyable book and that kept me highly engaged and entertained from start to finish.
What Didn’t Work For Me:
Nothing. Flawless as usual.
Would I Recommend This Book:
Yes, especially to my BDSM loving friends.
Final Star Rating:
I LOVE Lexi Blake!!!
I LOVE McKay Taggart, Sanctum, and her fabulous characters… I have read all of the books in this series and have loved every one! They are touching stories, with Doms who aren't afraid to fall in love and give their Subs 100%. There are always difficulties for the couples to overcome and they are stronger for it in the end.
In this installment of 1001 Nights we meet Flynn and Amy. They are bitter rivals who find themselves in a bit of a pickle when they are paired together by Sanctums resident Cupid, Kai as training partners. It isn't until later that either of them realizes who the other is and by this time it's too late!
I love that Blake always has humor, conflict, hot af scenes, loving dominance and sometimes bratty submission. The women in her books are powerful without being masculine and are trying to find their way in the world. They are strong, but soft, tough but kind, and the men have Dominance down to a loving science. They are fiercely loyal, loving, strong, protective men who get what the d/s relationship is about.
Devoted is an excellent quick read if you need an afternoon pick me up or night time put me down!
Review by Amanda
It was a little light on the BDSM but it was an enjoyable story nevertheless.
