Now I enjoy a good mystery but somehow this book missed the mark for me. Having religious issues which prevents her from acknowledging her attraction to women seemed to not really fit in with the story in general. I want a good mystery which keeps me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out who did it and this just did not deliver in that aspect. If this were not a mystery but just a story about a woman coming to terms with her sisters death and her own sexually perhaps it would have been more interesting. As a mystery it just fell flat for me. I gave it 3 stars because I did like the characters and I thought the author did a good job of presenting them and making them relevant to the story. So it was not a total loss.
On one hand we were able to see how religion can mess with someone's head, and make them doubt their very own feelings. We also get to get to read a who done it thriller. I thought that it was clear pretty early on, who had done it. However, Ms.Solomen's deeper writings into the why was very enthralling.
It was a pretty fast read for me, which I liked. But it also had depth of characters that you don't see often.
