Devotion (Deluxe) is an incredible release from Anberlin! Disc 1 contains the entire Vital album, plus three new songs (including one of my new favorites, City Electric). The second disc contains remixes of thirteen tracks. While I am generally not a fan of remixes, I am pleased with most of the remixes on this track.

The live DVD was my main motivation for purchasing the Deluxe edition. Having attended one of the stops on Anberlin's acoustic tour, this DVD allows me to relive that performance over and over again. The DVD recreates the intimacy of this specific tour, and would be a welcomed addition to any Anberlin fan's library.

Had the opportunity to meet and hang out with these guys a few times as one of my best friends (Scott) is their drum tech. Not only are they a GREAT band they are all super nice down to earth guys and fun to hang out with. The album rocks and may be my album of the year!!!!

I absolutely love this album. The deluxe edition of Vital is one for the ages. The second CD contains a host of remixes from the tracks on Devotion, most of which are very electronic and 'dancy'.... but if you like heavy bass drops and Skrillex-like sounds, turn to track 12 of the second CD and you'll be in for a treat! The third CD is a Live CD. Stephen Christian and the rest of Anberlin are just as good, if not better, live than they are in concert.

Thrilled to have the expanded version, and the remix CD definitely adds a new taste to Anberlin's Portfolio, wouldn't mind seeing some more of this down the road. Live DVD is excellent as well.

Ah, how did Anberlin get me with their "Vital" release. I'd heard of them and decided to check them out on a whim with "Vital" and it became my favorite release of 2012 bar none. Fantastic album, incredible energy, wonderful verbal turns and phrasing, and great production by the talented Aaron Sprinkle. Then they do that most devious of things: release a deluxe version of "Vital", now called "Devotion". IMO though "Devotion" was a great record it wasn't necessarily an improvement on "Vital" but, still, containing all of "Vital" (with some very slight alterations to those original songs) how could you downgrade it? But Anberlin didn't stop there. They released another package that included a DVD of a pre-"Vital" concert. Yep, bought that. Then they released this deluxe edition which contains (A) all of "Devotion" and (B) the CD of the concert that was on DVD and (C) the main reason to get this, the CD inclusion of thirteen remixes.

This remix CD gives alternate mixes of every song off of the proper "Vital" release plus two off of "Devotion"--"Unstable" and "Said Too Much". The remixes are almost all longer than their original counterparts and while most are turned more into club oriented tunes they all retain their interest and, most importantly, their vital energy.

The remix CD is worth the price of the package but lucky was the one, quite unlike me, who managed to buy only this release. I still favor "Vital" in its purest form and feel a bit of a fool for essentially buying it three times over but you know what? I'm still happy with it. I'm happy with it all.

I usually don't like album re-releases; I don't want to have to buy an album twice just to get the bonus tracks. But I do want the bonus tracks.
As I am a big Anberlin fan, I bought the album, Vital, when it first came out, so I was a little dismayed at first when I learned that I would have to re-buy it when "Devotion: Vital V.2" came out. But it ended up being better than I expected.
Devotion (Deluxe) is much more than a special edition re-release. There are two discs beyond the main album disc, which itself amounts to nearly twice the content of the original Vital; the new content is spectacular. The second disc is a remix album; normally I don't care for remixes, but Anberlin picked the right people to remix their songs. The third is a DVD of a live performance, which I've not yet watched.
All this is topped by the artfully designed case.
To say the least, Devotion exceeded my expectations, and what's more, found its rightful place as one of my favorite Anberlin albums.

I normally don't buy special editions of albums if I already have the original release, but I heard that Anberlin is retiring. So, I bought this during the emotional moment of that realization. And, even if they weren't retiring, I would recommend doing it: There are 7 new tracks added to the vital album, and they are GREAT. There is also a remix of (I think) the entire original Vital recording, and they are pretty fun, AAAAND, the bonus DVD is no joke. It is a full-length concert, and a very good one at that. If you don't have Vital yet, just skip it and buy this. If you already have Vital, you should STILL buy this, as there is enough new material that it is almost like buying a whole new studio album.

This album did something I would not have thought possible. It took one of the best albums ever and somehow made it better.

I have listened to all of Anberlin's albums extensively and for a long time thought that "Never Take Friendship Personal" was their best album. However, once I listened to "Vital," I changed my mind.

When I heard that "Devotion" was coming out, I wanted it right away. However, I did not expect the new tracks to be nearly as good as the tracks on "Vital". After listening to this album, I discovered that I was wrong. With the possible exception of "No Love to Speak," I loved every song on this album.
