Anyway, for any couple that feels they are ready to explore their individual spirituality with each other, this is a great way to start.
My favorite part about this devotional was that each of us can do our devotionals on our own (which is great when you're not married/living together and can't necessarily nail down a time to be together every day of the week with work and school to balance) and then at the end of the week, we can discuss it together. This gives you time to really explore how you feel about the week, where you are spiritually, and where you'd like to be.
I have another devotional which I didn't particularly care for because it does not include any guidance questions. In "Devotions for Dating Couples" I love that guidance questions get us started, and then we continue the conversation into what we really enjoyed, learned, and how we can help each other.
When I bought this book, I really didn't know what I was buying... it was so much better than I thought it would be!
* The week is set up so that you can do one devotion each day for five days, and the sixth day has questions to ask and discuss. The devotions are also very short and not as time consuming.
**Buy two books so that you can each write comments, underline, and do the devotionals alone, then you will have your thoughts handy on Saturday (or any day of your choosing) to discuss the week!
Overall, I felt this book was very non-threatening, and a good way to accomplish the goal we were trying to meet. If you're looking for a way to introduce devotions in to your relationship without making it seem like a chore or a source of conflict, this book is a good bet.
For what we got out of it personally because of our own determination, though, I would say 4.5 stars! It's not a deeply theological book (and that's okay!) but the core is solid. We are both life-long believers but at different stages of spiritual maturity, so this was a good middle-ground. Mainly it got us thinking, gave us some daily structure and Scripture reading, and stirred up some really great conversations. A lot of the discussion questions at the end of each week didn't resonate with us or were repetitive, but we addressed them as best we could, and then we made up our own questions or let them lead us into deeper thoughts. As a result we are now much more comfortable talking about our faith and personal struggles. The 9 weeks flew by, and now I really miss our Saturday devo talks!
If you choose to use this devotional as a resource for building your faith and dating relationship, take the initiative of going the extra mile where the book itself can't take you...and pray a LOT! :)

This is a fantastic book and conversation-starter for couples before marriage. It would probably be good for even married couples, though that's not its emphasis. Read morePublished 15 days ago by Daveey

Great book. It seems simple at first, but the small things covered in each lesson at the beginning of the book really work on you.Published 1 month ago by Amazon Customer
Good devotional but many of the days seem like the very same topic. Could combine 2-3 days into one devotional. BUT I would recommend for couples.Published 1 month ago by Delaina N. Baker
