graphics are great, with very rare slowdowns. audio is good, i think the music is even better. the controls and menu systems will take a little getting used to, but they make sense. my only complaint is the long load times, especially if the game host drops in the middle of the game and it has to switch to a new host. you'll lose your progress as well. disappointing.
give this a solid 4 out of 5. if you're a fan of the diablo series, own a switch, and want to play on-the-go, then this game will be money well spent.
I have been playing this so long today, I ran the battery down on my Switch. I've wanted a portable version of rbis game ever since I first played it on PS4. I had a Vita for a while, and always hoped they would port it over to that system, but that never happened. I would have even accepted some sacriffices in content. This however is the entire Eternal collection which looks and plays almost identical to the ps4 version. There is a lot of content here, and gladly they did not have to make any saccrifices. For Switch owners, you get the full Diablo experience without any sacrfice...unless you want 4K. The game holds perfectly at 60fps even on the tiny tablet screen. This is freaking amazing!
My old gaming friends have since moved on with their lives and we don't talk much, so I have been playing in single player, which is a buttery smooth experience. It probably runs better on the switch than it did on my not-so-good gaming laptop back then. I am glad to see it comes with the expansions as I never got to play those. I cant speak for the other features of this game like seasons and hardcore as I never really experienced them before, but I hope to try everything out that I can. And hopefully this go 'round, I can finish the entire game.
I played for 2 or so consecutive hours yesterday on handheld mode with 3/4 brightness and the battery was at 44% when I put it down. I can see getting around 3:30-4 hours on a single charge if you play conservatively.
All that being said, the only thing that I don't care for with this version of Diablo 3 is the GUI in handheld mode. The map and icons are all very small and the speak text from the NPC's can be hard to see. I haven't tried it in docked mode but I presume that it would be easier to see on the big screen.
Don't let that one negative bring the whole game down for you though, pick it up (maybe on Black Friday to save some money) and have fun.
