Diablo Springs-Once a boomtown of gamblers, outlaws and miners. Now a place where shifting sands whisper only of torment and loss. A place where shadows lure the unsuspecting into its abyss. It's where Gracie Beck was raised, but she never called it home. When she left that place, she never looked back...
Diablo Springs -formerly Whispers:
you will hear their whispered warnings....
Now Gracie finds she's inherited the Diablo Hotel from her grandmother and, with it, a curse that has haunted her family for over a hundred years. As she begins to unearth long-buried secrets, she unleashes a force that threatens everyone she cares about. And when the one man she has tried to forget unexpectedly returns, Gracie needs to decide if she can trust him to help her save her daughter.
I loved this book! Erin Quinn writing grabs you from the beginning and takes on a suspenseful ride! I love how she ties the past in with the present.
*kicks ground and looks sad*
As for Gracie and Reilly, keeping BIG secrets from others is usually a no-no for me, but the reasoning behind this one worked. Gracie essentially loses the last of her family when her grandmother sends her away as a teen and she's dealing with big life changes on top of believing the love of her life abandoned her. So, yeah. I get why she kept her secret.
Reilly has his own share of demons, most of them revolving around his messed up family. Man, those Alexanders were screwed up in the head. For reasons, guys. For reasons.
As for the part of the story that takes place in the past, Ella and Sawyer's tale is tragic. Given the times they lived in this isn't shocking, but Ella had strength and courage to spare and that was the only thing keeping her going forward at times.
Ultimately, I liked the book. I might have wanted more for Ella, but the present day romance worked and I'm always down for reading about restless spirits.

This is a new to me author and I enjoyed her story. I liked the story line and found the book to be a page turner. I do not read many ghost story's, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one.
