A little bit about the machine. The side panel opens on the right side and the glass slides to the side.. You load the chickens onto the spit and insert at a 45 degree angle to the machine. Then close glass door and the side panel to cook. Cooking time is about an hour but you can also lower the heat to hold them and add water to the tray to humidify.
The chickens cook well throughout, I must think that anyone who has had problems has a unit that is defective or maybe is trying to cook using a 120V line. I found no problems with cooking and one more thing, the heat is supposed to escape out the top that is called a vent and they made that on purpose. Anyone who complains about that does not under stand how commercial rotisseries work.
There are definitely some differences between these units and the pricier ones. First thing is this is a lighter machine, it must be under 200 lbs. the stainless steel is def not heavy grade but as the commenter above said it certainly does the job. The warranty is parts only. We actually did need to replace a fiber gear but they sent one as soon as we called and my plumber installed it.
The truth is if I had 10 grand to spend I might buy an Old Hickory rotisserie or another high end brand but nevertheless I have been very satisfied with the job this rotisserie has done and I would not hesitate to buy another, and I just might do that as we expand. If you are looking for a machine at less than 5k then don't listen to the naysayers this is a good value.
