About the Author
Lorena Angell lives in arguably the most beautiful location in the world, nestled deep in the scenic Columbia River Gorge of the Pacific Northwest, USA. When she's not writing, she enjoys reading, bar-b-queuing, exploring the Pacific coast, and hiking in the Cascade Mountain Range with her family. She has yet to run across Sasquatch, but you can bet when she does she'll write him/her into a story. Lorena's novels appeal to those who like young adult fantasy/paranormal with a hint of romance and several twists and turns. If you enjoy reading about strong female protagonists and thought-provoking moral dilemmas, intertwined with magical stones and crystals containing superhuman powers, then you'll love Lorena's books. Thank you Lorena, looking forward to reading the remaining series.
[taken from my review at goodreads]
After calli gets to the school I got a little lost in the who,and what's and whys but I quickly was able to regroup and lose myself in this story the character of calli is amazing she's amazing you feel for her you admire her she's strong determined and always looking out for everyone
It took me a moment to get hooked in this story but I kept reading and literally couldn't put it down till I was done and I for one will deff wanna read up and continue getting to know calli and see where things go and how her power progresses and see where the secondary characters in this book are going
The characters were likable (most of them) and their journey was filled with adventures and excitement. The only thing that felt odd was the main character did not act as one would assume a 16 year old should in her situation; she took in all in stride and accepted them as they came. She did question a lot of it but remained okay with what was going on.
Lorena Angell was able to capture my attention from the beginning and hold it through the adventures and problems Callie experienced. I am still confused on some things but I do plan on reading the next books in the series and hopefully more will unfold.
This is a YA book and has a paranormal/fantasy theme.
