The match is also smaller than the one you remember, with a too-fast burn rate.
I firmly believe that it's a Chinese knock-off of the real thing. It's purpose, I claim, is not to work like the matches your mother had in her kitchen, but merely to _LOOK_ like the original. Never mind whether it works or not. Save your money, and/or take the time to track down the real thing.
The other boxes were a different story. I had frequent duds, matches that would light and immediately die before I could light anything with them. A lot of these matches were paired to the same match head and wouldn't work separately worth a damn. Basically one match for the price of two. For many of them I had to use the entire length of the striking surface to get them started. One box had a flaw in the striking surface and I had to try to strike the matches around the flaw or they wouldn't light at all. You get matches so they can light a candle, cigarette, pipe, cigar, incense, etc. If they go out before accomplishing anything you have a really cheap fireworks display.
I have to agree with the other reviewers about prices, you can find better, and worse, prices in other places.
I'd suggest against getting these on Amazon since I've had more poor quality boxes of matches than decent quality and I've found better prices at Target and a few other stores. If I buy something I want the quality to be consistent across all instances of the product.
