I was very excited to use this thing with my new media center PC. It installed perfectly in my PCI-E slot and Windows 7 went right to installing drivers for it. After installing and rebooting, I opened up Windows Media Center to give it a whirl. This is where the trouble began...

I noticed that my computer's performance was getting really choppy. It's not the most powerful computer in the world, but it should have been able to run WMC without any problems. I got the TV tuner card to work and got about 20 channels (mostly HD) tuned in. I was pretty excited when all of a sudden the TV picture froze. I could move the mouse and was able to close Windows Media Center. I noticed the CPU widget on my desktop reporting the CPU usage at 100%. And it stayed at 100% until I rebooted the computer. Eventually I diagnosed the issue to be with the TV tuner card by removing other components (video card, wireless networking card, etc.) one at a time. Each time I booted and used Windows Media Center, the same freezing and CPU overloading would happen; until I booted without the TV tuner card installed. I was able to use WMC to watch videos and listen to music without the freezing.

So, I began to research this issue and found that it was a bad driver. I tried using the drivers that came with the card, but they didn't even work. WMC wouldn't recognize that a TV tuner card was installed. I tried using the ATI website to download the most up-to-date drivers, but they didn't work either (they were the same drivers that Windows had found earlier).

At this point, I was extremely disappointed. Luckily, Amazon allowed me to return my purchase for a full refund. I sent this card back and got a WinTV card. It's been working like a charm ever since.

Worked out of box on win7 64bit.
Included remote works well with media center.
Included antenna picks up about 20 over the air channels - very good for it's size.

My only regret is not buying a card with multiple tunners.
But that's my fault, and has nothing to do with this card...
So 5 stars all the way

I was never able to get this card to work as well as I wanted with my Uverse signal. It was difficult to get it to pick up the channel being used and the video and sound never seemed to link up correctly. It also depended on the CPU for encoding MPEG video and was prone to dropping the signal when I tried recording a program while also using the computer for web surfing.

Video looks and sounds fine using the ArcSoft TotalMedia software that comes with this product....... But, it FREEZES up my computer if I leave it running for over a hour..... The video files (.mpg), created by the recorder, DO NOT PLAY the audio portion in the Windows Media Player. As of this writting, I have been unable to find a codec that is made for running these files using WMP.
(I have it hooked up to a Comcast 'digital' cable box (not HD), Win-7 Ultimate, ASUS Rampage Extreme III motherboard, ASUS GTX580 graphics card.)

I first used a 750 USB tuner on both my laptop and desktop, then got the PCIe version for permanent installation in my desktop. Installation was straightforward, and the Win 7 Media Center picked it up and configured itself without any glitches. I've not used the remote that comes with the tuner (I use a Rosewill remote that interacts directly with the Media Center).

I have no reservations about recommending this tuner.

This Tuner card worked immediately, i just inserted it into my open PCI-e slot and BAM! it gets recognized, and works perfectly with windows media center (windows 7). just an FYI though the software included on the disk is junk!

Does everything I need it to do. Has a weird connector but an adapter is included. Included an antenna and a remote that works with Windows Media Center. Also came with an S-video to RCA adapter, which was nice. I can now record VHS tapes.

The TotalMedia 3.5 software was nice, but a little buggy. It would crash when scanning digital channels. That's ok because the card works brilliantly with Windows Media Center in Windows 7 x64.

I don't believe I could have gotten a better price anywhere. Does everything my ATI Theater 550 Pro did plus adds digital compatibility. Works with analog cable, digital cable, OTA digital HDTV.

I'm satisfied.
