I didn’t like this book. It took me…two weeks? It was forgettable. I’d read it to put me to sleep when I couldn’t wind down. A page here and there, clouded by a sleep-deprived mind and cabin fever.
Look. I like to think I’m a relatively nice person. I try not to beat people down and discourage them. Even my previous negative reviews come with some positives.
I just didn’t like this book. I didn’t like it because it needed a lot of editing. If you’re putting a book out there for others to enjoy, make sure you showed you cared enough to edit. I didn’t like the characters. Concept: cool. A previous con turning a new leaf on the right side of the law. Yet, he comes off as bad and has no clue of his emotions.
Sebastian the ex-con falls in love with a woman in his case and doesn’t understand his emotions. The majority of the book the two lovebirds sounded whiney and confused. The action took place so late into the book when that was kind of a selling point on it. Don’t deliver so late; it’s like bad sex.
The relationships in the book were shallow and without proper cause. People have reasons to like each other. What are they? If they don’t have reasons, more often than not they just hate people. And usually there’s a reason for that. The characters were massively underdeveloped. Everyone at Sebastian’s office was a name and replaceable with other characters.
I wish I had something nice to say. But honestly it felt like a son putting on his dad’s shoes; they didn’t fit because he hadn’t grown enough. A giant project with little experience.

I was given this book in turn for an honest review.
Sebastian can charm a woman with little effort; when his next assignment includes seducing the stunning Daria his mind and heart go to battle. Will his job or heart win?
A.M. Cosgrove has written a fast paced mysterious passionate romance with an intriguing and captivating storyline. This whirlwind romance has many secrets lying in wait; this is far from a straight laced assignment.
I loved Sebastian he was a man who despite his past fought for what was right when it came to those he cared for; he had turned his life around and was working hard to stay on the right side of the law. Not to mention he had a way with words and could charm the panties off any woman.
Daria was a strong woman, with a huge wall built round her. Considering her father’s background and the lifestyle she lived, it's understandable she always had her guard up. My only dislike in Daria is that her demeanour was on the whole very standoffish, however when she let her walls down just a little the true bright and pleasant personality shined through.
Their chemistry and connection was undeniable and they complemented each other; they brought light and happiness into each other’s life.
The only dislike with this book for me is it felt a little rushed; with a little more depth into the storyline and characters, the storyline and their romance had potential to be something much more. I look forward to reading more A.M. Cosgrove.
If you love reading mysterious, passionate romances you will enjoy Diamonds by A.M. Cosgrove.
“Look I know you aren’t always treated like you should be. You aren’t a pawn to be moved around a chessboard to suit the needs of others. You deserve to be treated better. I am going to make sure that happens.” He took her hand in his and gently kissed it.
Daria was raised by a over protected dad and being the princess in his life. No man is good enough. Daria never trust any one not to hurt her or want something from her. When a stranger pushes his way in her life he breaks down all her defenses and she realizes he may just steal her heart.
Sebastian a criminal now on the right side of the law. When this case comes along it turns all his well laid plains on its ear. Daria is nothing he is expecting but every thing his heart wants. when danger threatens her where its least expected will he come clean and lose the best thing he ever didn't know he wanted.
"Yeah, for a second there I thought you falling at the sight of me."
"Easy Buddy." She grinned. "It takes more than the mere sight of a man to make me fall head over heels."
