"Kairie reminds me of Mata Hari, just better." -Beta Reader-
"If I had to compare it to anything, it would be Mad Max, but the good version with Mel Gibson, only with a woman but just as dark" -Beta Reader-
From the Author
Donald Trump on the other hand reminds me in many ways of a man that placed a never diminishing dark spot on German history. The thing is we can't look in peoples mind and especially politicians have the talent of saying one thing while thinking something totally different. I'm not saying that what I wrote in my story is what he would do, what would happen if DonaldTrump was elected. Only that the impression he made on me, led me to this. But it's more than a story about a power hungry, cunning and evil president. The world in many ways took steps forward in tolerance and acceptance of people belonging to minorities. No matter if that is religion, skin color or being part of the LGBTQ community. Yet at the same time, as often happened in history, the hatred towards them is rising as well.
A historian in some book I read long ago called it birthing pains of a new society.
In the last two decades human rights have been shaped,re-shaped, extended, reshaped fought for and against like in no other period in time throughout history. Never before where the voices against bullying and discrimination as loud as in this century. And never were the crimes against those we try to defend and make space in our world for, so violent.
If you look through history, you'll find similar times and two kinds of result. The society it happened in either fell and vanished or rose from those birthing pains, stronger, and more just than ever before.
The Diaries of Kairie Lawless is the first book in a series,it's how America plummets into the darkness. Yet that doesn't mean it can't rise again, bigger, better and stronger as a unified society.
