From the manufacturer
Through its dedication to innovation and continual customer contact, Williamson-Dickie Mfg. Co. has transformed itself from a small bib overall company to the largest workwear manufacturer in the world. Sold in every state in the U.S., Dickies now offers a broad spectrum of work garments ranging from work pants and work shirts to denim jeans and women's workwear. Since its beginnings in 1922, every piece of Dickies workwear has stood for the quality, toughness and pride that embodies the spirit of the American worker.
C.N. Williamson and E.E. Colonel Dickie began their business careers in the vehicle and harness business in Bryan, Texas. In 1918, they made what turned out to be a momentous decision when they and a few friends established the U.S. Overall Company. Then, in 1922, C. Don Williamson joined with his father and cousin to buy 100% of the overall company on a one-third-each basis and renamed it Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company.
From its early years, Williamson-Dickie enjoyed steady growth, slowed only by the Great Depression, and during World War II, the company was sequestered to produce millions of uniforms for the nation's armed forces. In converting to civilian production after the war, C. Don Williamson began a strategy of geographical expansion and established new production facilities, warehouses, and sales territories throughout the United States. In the late 1950's, Williamson-Dickie became an international company by expanding into the European market and the Middle Eastern market - where Texas oilmen introduced the Dickies brand to Middle Eastern oil fields.
While Williamson-Dickie began as a bib overall company, today it has grown to be the number one manufacturer of work apparel worldwide. By continually expanding and updating its selection, Williamson-Dickie now offers garments ranging from its staple work pants and work shirts to items such as women's workwear, chore coats, and denim jeans. Dickies workwear is currently sold in all 50 states and throughout the world in countries such as South Africa, Australia, Russia, Chile, Japan, Iceland, Canada, Europe and Mexico.
Since 1922, Dickies quality has been built into every product. Dickies will gladly replace a Dickies garment or refund your money if you are not satisfied for any reason. Please feel free to call their special customer service line with any comments at 1-800-Dickies.

I currently work in a restaurant where I am required to wear black pants, and I used to wear cheap walmart slacks everyday, but these have become my new favorite. They have a good straight leg shape that also gives an indirect recognition that you do indeed have a butt, but without over announcing it like a pair of tight jeans would. The waist felt slightly snug the first time I wore them, but since then they have felt very comfortable. Depending on the pants, I wear either a 32 or 33 waist, but as 32s, these have a nice slim fit to them that won't allow them to sag, which is perfect for running back and forth at work. I'm 5'11" and 175 lbs, and the fit feels great on my legs as well. The material is very sturdy, as anybody who has worn dickies before would know, and therefore can withstand a good amount of abuse.
There seems to be some conflicting opinions in the reviews regarding the fit of these pants - perhaps I can clarify. They are not slim fit in the sense that a modernly fashionable young man may think. By this I mean that they are not skinny jeans, they are not your girlfriends jeans, and they are not super butt hugging cowboy pants. They are, however, slim fit in a sense that a modern businessman may think, who can discern the difference between a casual style slack pant and a slim fit slack pant. In other words, there is definitely going to be some room between your legs and the pants, but they won't appear baggy. They'll look much more like straight leg jeans.
I give these five stars as they perfectly fulfill my needs. They are not my favorite pants by any means, and I personally would very rarely wear them to any place except for work. But, I still do wear them almost every day, they are very reliable, and I am very happy with them.
Basically the fit is just right.
The 874 from Dickies has always delivered a solid option. I recently threw out a pair of cutoff 874s from 1996. They frayed a whopping 1/8th of an inch and barely discolored over the last decades. I had a pair of Dickies Corduroy pants when ultra baggy was in vogue. Now to be taken seriously as a Chief Engineer, I have to look the part and do the work. That means I need a solid comfortable preforming pant. I have found my new choice in the 873.
I ordered one pair as a trial and I immediately fell in love with them the first time I wore them. They arrive a bit stiff, but after the first wash they are gold. Slim as I would allow, they still let me move and bend and even squat. At 6'/ 190 I am not fat, but by all means I am not skinny either. I blame a general lack of exercise and craft beer. My wife noted that I look taller when wearing them. 36x30 with no sag and no ball squish. these are my goto pant now and I am going to buy every color for work and daily wear.
Based on the fit of these I will be getting the Poplin Slim Straight for the upcoming summer heat.
Just do yourself a favor if you are on the fence. Get a pair
I used to wear regular Dickies in middle and high school. I loved them except they wore a little high in the waist and low in the crotch. But these are much better! They were designed for me!!
I'm 5'7" @ 145lbs and wear a 32Wx30L, and these fit great!
