I love the lined warm comfort of this jacket and rugged feel appearance of the exterior Dickies fabric. It is very warm in 30 degree weather. I've been wearing it daily and mostly used as a work jacket. But while bending over slightly, the backside top center fabric ripped open. It is a 1" vertical tear running across the horizontal seam that holds the hood on. The material tore, not the seam, and I was not wearing the hood. This indicates to me that the material is not cut wide enough across that horizontal length across the shoulders. I'm 6' tall and 185# and not a bodybuilder so my shoulders are not extra wide. I don't know if it is just this jacket or if they are all built this way and would like to try a replacement.

I just got this few days ago and tried it on yesterday for the first time (I ordered the long model after reading the other reviews)
the size of the jacket is great, its slightly bigger (not taller) than expected, but thats not bad actually in case someone wears anything beneath it.
however, the hood is comically over sized, in the photo I just simply pulled it over my head with simple motion with no adjustments what so ever, I can pretty much only see the ground couple of meters ahead of me.

This jacket is very well made. It is heavy, durable and very warm. I live in central Ontario and we are no stranger to -13F winter temps. The sherpa lining (chest, back and hood) is very insulating and comfortable. The sleeves are heavily quilted and also very warm. I like the dual layered cuffs, keeps wind and wet out and the covers my leather gloves perfectly. Hood is a little on the large size, but manageable. I would definitely buy another of these jackets, but I have a feeling it's going to last awhile!

This is an awesome Jacket, good quality, good condition, is too good for cold areas, and is very durable, I have been using it like 8 months since I bought it, and remains exactly the same color and shape..

I'm an astronomer and I do quite a lot of sitting around in the cold throughout the night. This jacket is excellent, especially for the price. I've had more expensive jackets and this is by far my favorite.

This jacket arrived just prior to the winter snow storms and cold waves. Polar Express weather can't penetrate this jacket. Only two suggestions for improvement: put a pull string around the hood to allow for fitting. It tends to cover my head, face, and eyes. But it's great in a blizzard! Also snaps around the collar and hood to allow for hood removal when not needed. The hood gets caught inside when putting the coat on. This feels strange and makes one appear somewhat like a hunchback! I am big and orded a 5X. I wish a 6X was available. This coat is great for the cold weather in the area of the great North Coast.

I first purchased a standard Large b/c I feared the Large Tall would be too long. After receipt the sleeves of the standard Large were too short so I immediately returned it and ordered a Large Tall. The torso length of the Large Tall is good but the sleeves are still too short as they leave my wrists and slightly above exposed when driving a vehicle, etc. I'm 6'0" tall, 190 lbs, 32" waste. My other jackets are standard Large and do not have this same sleeve length issue. Also the jacket I received has a bizzare odor that I cannot get rid of. Right out of the box it smelled and that eve I hung it in our coat closet and now several other coats have that same smell. I've washed this coat twice, treated with Fabreeze which helps mask the foul odor. But after the Fabreeze dissapates it smells bad again. It hangs in my cube at work and makes my cube area smell, and co-workers complain. On one hand it's a very warm, comfortable jacket, with decent workmanship. But the sleeve length and foul odor make it a big dissapointment. So unless you're built like a penguin I recommend buying local so you can try it on and make sure it does not stink.

I'm a bit shocked at this coat. I bought it using the sizing chart information, and got an XL tall version. It turned out to be slightly large, but overall it fit well enough to accept, and I really liked the way it felt when wearing it outside on a cold day. Coat was very warm, and I figured it'd be more than durable enough.

Boy was I wrong. Within the first week, I heard a ripping sound when I was removing the jacked. I checked it out, and I couldn't find anything wrong. However, today I heard it again, when I was taking the coat off, and this time I found about a 1" rip right in the middle of the back, where the hood meets the body. There's no seam where it ripped, so I don't see how it's structural aside from just delicate material. I apparently take off my coats by dropping the coat to the elbows and then reach across pull off the sleeves off from there. It puts a slight amount of pressure on the coat, but nothing unusual, and I think I've been removing my coats like this for years - no thought to it at all to it. This has never happened before, and that includes plenty of lighter jackets.

I'm pretty bummed about this, since I like the jacket and want to keep using it. I've tried sewing the tear shut, and I'll see how that pans out. However, I don't think this should have happened. I'm thinking my next jacket won't be a Dickies.
