I ADORE this product. Have made multiple purchases. I have paid for very highly priced facial products/toners, wipes, etc. and was just done with over-paying. I tried this product and am so glad I ordered it. The bottle is HUGE, the product does a great job off cleansing the day off my face, for a quick refresher or to help remove residual eye make-up. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and am hesitant to try new products as they can erupt my skin into a rash and/or seriously scald my skin. I have had ZERO negative reaction to this product. I love the way it makes my skin feel after using it; soft and smooth - almost like a primer for my moisturizer. I do not dislike the way it smells. I simply love this product and do not have one negative comment to make. I have ordered it 3x's, paid full price, and never rec'd as a discounted product for my review. I do read reviews others leave when I am considering trying a new product. I appreciate the time it takes to write the review and reviews can sway my decision to purchase.

I had read countless articles/reviews from multiple websites saying how good this stuff was. I’ve never used a skin care product and been blown away. I have always had large pores on my nose..I thought this was a cleanser problem and not a toner problem. Not kidding you guys..after a week of using this (I wash my face once every morning), my nose pores were insanely smaller! It was a huge difference! I wish I would’ve done a before picture so I could show it on here. I HIGHLY recommend this stuff!

Spot treatment for sensitive/combo/oily skin

I was encouraged NOT to use this product for the user claimed it contained “poison.” Well, I tried it anyway. I have sensitive/combo/oily skin and am prone to blemishes (especially around my period). I am NOT using this product all over my face as a toner!!! I cleanse my face with a Neutrogena Ultra Gentle cleanser twice a day. I use oil-free moisturizer at night before bed every two days. However, if I happen to notice a small blemish or redness from a healing one, I use a Q-Tip and the witch hazel and spot treat ONCE a day. Within two days, I do not notice the redness and irritation diminish and I am NOT tempted to squeeze or mess with the pimple. It’s a God send and recommend for spot treatment.

I've heard a lot of negative remarks that witch hazel is very drying on the skin. If you Google witch hazel what seems to show up first or the negative remarks.

I've been using witch hazel since I was a teenager and it never been to drying on my skin. However I may be using it differently than others.

I get my washcloths soaking wet with hot water and I put a little bit of it on the cloth and use it over my skin. I believe that that is diluting it to some extent and perhaps that's why it's not too drying.

My skin always feels very tingly and clean and fresh after use. I use it in the morning when I get up and I only use it once a day.

I do not use witch-hazel to remove makeup. I only use it in the morning to clean my skin before applying makeup.

I don't think witch-hazel is the right item to use to remove makeup. most makeup is formulated to be cleaned with either soap or oil. I remove my makeup with bar soap. I removed my mascara with almond oil because my mascara is waterproof.

I do not use witch-hazel to treat acne. I'm only using it as a cleansing toner in the morning.

I believe that having the appropriate expectations of what this can do for you will make you a lot happier with it.

This is the only brand of witch-hazel that I purchased because I believe that it has the highest quality available for the price. I've been using this brand for a very long time and I am brand loyal.

I should have researched witch hazel before purchasing. This is literally a poison in rubbing alcohol. I broke out into this awful rash on my face that immediately scabbed over. You can't get a refund because this is a beauty product. Beware before purchasing - do not waste your money. A bottle of running alcohol is a buck at the store, so might as well get the non poisonous part for cheap!

Unlike all other products that say they minimize pores- this one actually DOES and is noticeable only after a weeks use. Pair this with pure aloe for a moisturizer and you got yourself a powerful skin regimen. Love it. Great product at a great price. Only thing is as Amazon finds more and more little tricks to force you to spend more like this one, where you can only buy it as an add-on, you become a little angry at Amazon for their bottomless greed. They were once my favorite company but because of their greedy ways like add-on only purchasing and raising their "Free Shipping" amount fees so as to force you to pay for their premium memebrship which has a horrible selection of movies and tv shows, thus it only gives you free shipping, which isn't at all free considering that you have to pay for in one lump sum yearly and still they force you to spend a large dollar amount to buy products like this. In conclusion, this product was/is excellent, however, Amazon has become a monster than must be put in its place.

I bought this as an apparent alcohol free alternative to regular distilled witch hazel for skin cleansing. I then saw that they actually simply substitute ethanol with phenoxyethanol which is still an alcohol based solvent, ie it's not water based at all and still as irritating, if not more, than the regular witch hazel I've used.

Very disappointing.

I should have researched the full ingredient list online before making the purchase.

This has helped towards clearing a bout of adult acne I was suffering from. I apply onto cotton pad morning and evening after cetaphil cleanser. Yes it does have a woody natural smell when you are wiping over the face but once it's dried in/evaporated away I don't smell it. If you're looking for the luxury manufactured smell then look elsewhere, if you want something calming and soothing that is more natural (and as a result less expensive) then I would highly recommend this product, bottle is a great size for price. My skin has not only cleared of the active blemishes but the scarring and dullness also caused by problematic skin has decreased considerably. My skin is clearer, brighter, tighter and more even as a result of using this as my toner after cleansing. I will be repurchasing.

Ok, so after reading a magazine article about witch hazel I came to amazon to read some reviews and decided to try ordering a bottle to see what the fuss was about... Well let me tell you this stuff is amazing! After only 1 application I could already see a difference in the size of my pores, and my adult acne started to dry out, and bonus my skin felt so smooth, like a baby's. I have been using this twice a day for about a week now and my skin is getting better and better, it's incredible. I will definitely order more in the future.
Side note about the fact that some people say it smells bad : personally I don't get a smell of it at all, but my daughter says it stinks so I guess it's one of those things where it will bother some people and not others

Recieved today and I must be honest - I was expecting this to be a glass bottle but that's nothing against the product or the seller by any means. It doesn't even matter that it's not. Why did I even mention it? 🤷

Anyway, I used this product for the first time this evening and my face hasn't melted off. I suppose the proof will be in the pudding and it'll take some time to see if this is as good for my skin as people claim it will be.

Some people here are complaining about the smell. I actually expected it to smell a lot worse. The witchhazel products I'm used to have that overpowering smell of alcohol, the kind that makes your eyes feel cold. This doesn't smell of alcohol at all (to me). The only scent is quite an earthy, woody one which might catch you off guard at first (it did, me) but I forgot all about it after smelling it a few times and then finally using it.

If I have any problems then I'll update this review. But I imagine it's going to do what it says on the tin just fine.

If you wet shave then chances are you'd have heard of Dickinsons. It's a great product.

I'd recommend using after the Alum and before applying after shave. A little goes along way. Use sparingly.

What does it do? Tightens the skin, closes pores. Refreshes the shaved area. Great stuff!!
