- Reviewed in the United States on March 5, 2024Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseThis book has been a great resource for designing and repairing die. I have numerous stamping die books and this one is the best for getting answers fast.
- Reviewed in the United States on May 12, 2016Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseIf you are considering designing parts to be stamped from metal then I can't recommend this book enough. It reads as a 101 manual on how to avoid easy mistakes designers might make (from the die makers perspective). Everything reads as if an old-timer is giving you great nuggets of knowledge learned the hard-way over an entire career of die making and putting up with CAD jockeys who have never made a part themselves. These days every high schooler and CS student wants to design parts in FreeCAD or what-have-you to save the world, this gives you info on how to make life easier on the shop doing the actual manufacturing. Making their life easier means your parts are more likely to have less rejects and cost you less money during the prototype phase.
The other side of this coin is for folks making dies from other peoples designs. Again, it gives you tips on how to work around design issues and still get a correct part stamped out. I can't recommend this book enough for either job, die designing and die making.
- Reviewed in the United States on January 19, 2021Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseI liked this book as it breaks down a lot of issues in plain shop language and is not too heavy on the engineering side. It makes it digestable and has a lot of good information for the tool and die machinist.
- Reviewed in the United States on December 14, 2023Format: PaperbackVerified PurchaseWas excited to read this book... the book looks like it was used and mis-printed or it's a scam. Either way I was upset about the purchase. The media could not be loaded.
