When he's hit in the head with a golf ball that causes him to go into a coma for a month, Vic travels to a place in his mind where he plays a round of golf with others who are in a vegetative state. When he awakens, the book chronicles the antihero's midlife crisis in having an affair, leaving his wife and playing high-stakes golf with a syndicate.
...Vic is the perfect antihero, and while readers might not like him, they'll find his story interesting.

It's not just a book for golfers. I suggested it to my wife (a non-golfer) and she enjoyed it, too. As the book's title suggests, we are all faced with "difficult lies" and the double entendre suggested by the title is
fully explored in the book
It's a book about possibilities and does a great job of exploring "what if ?"
"Difficult Lies " is also about difficult choices. It will May you think
I did not have any expectations but once I started reading I could not put the book down for very long without going back to it to find out happened next. The book has a large golf element to it but it is more psychological than golf swings. After the accident, Vic's life changes and he seems to be able to rationalize everything especially the lies he has to tell to carry on with his life.
I was entertained and I hope there is another book coming.
A great read for anytime of the year.........golfer, or non-golfer. I really liked the flawed character of the main character . The other people in the novel will draw you in more deeply. Stay tuned and be ready for a heart, and gut felt ride through the side of golf you probably didn't know exist d, I didn't . I loved it. Serve my purpose for vacation reading, but I think we have very good things to look forward in the writings of Chris T. Werkman.
Come on Chris.........waiting for your next book!
