Heart Support
The American Heart Association recommends foods that contain potassium to help manage blood pressure
- High sodium, processed foods increase risk of high blood pressure, stroke and cardiovascular disease
- Potassium may lower this risk by helping the body remove excess sodium
- Potassium also aids blood pressure by relaxing the walls of the blood vessels
- People who eat fruits and vegetables high in potassium may develop higher bone mineral density
- Higher bone mineral density helps maintain muscle mass in the elderly
Too Little Potassium?
A potassium deficiency (hypokalemia) can lead to high blood pressure, kidney stones, low calcium levels, and may cause confusion, constipation, fatigue, muscle weakness.
Why Potassium?
Potassium supports proper functioning of the kidneys, heart, muscles and the nervous system
When in balance, it helps regulate blood pressure by regulating body fluids. It also supports muscle and nerve functions.
Good Food Sources for Potassium
Dried apricots, dried prunes, acorn squash, potato, kidney beans, lentils, bananas, orange juice, milk, coconut water, and salmon
Iodine is an essential mineral found in some foods. Most importantly, it helps the thyroid gland produce thyroid hormones, which in turn regulate body functions like metabolism
Iodine deficiency and hypothyroidism are increasingly common today. When your body has inadequate iodine, the thyroid may become sluggish. Fatigue may be the first noticeable symptom. Low iodine levels may cause the body to burn fewer calories.
Hypothyroidism occurs when the body does not produce enough thyroid hormones. It can result in chronic heart problems, and weak muscles by slowing down or preventing the metabolism of important nutrients.
Low iodine or thyroid levels often lead to dry, cracked skin, constipation, feeling cold, weight gain, hair loss, and irregular periods in women.
What Are Digestive Enzymes?
The Three Main Types of Enzymes
- Protease breaks down proteins into amino acids.
- A shortage of protease can lead to allergies and toxicity in the intestines.
- Lipase works with bile from the liver to help break down fats.
- Without enough lipase the body may not absorb fat-soluble vitamins such as A, D, E, and K.
- Amylase breaks down carbohydrates into sugar molecules.
- Insufficient amylase can lead to diarrhea.
Who Needs Supplemental Digestive Enzymes?
Almost everyone! People who experience stomach aches, diarrhea, gas, or other painful symptoms could use digestive enzymes.
Most people may avoid these uncomfortable symptoms by aiding their natural digestion with Zenesis Labs Digestive Enzymes which include 18 enzymes that help digest fat, fiber, carbs, protein, lactose, and gluten.
Digestive Enzymes play a key role in helping you break down the food you eat, so your body can absorb the nutrients locked into foods
Digestive enzymes help break down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins, and allow us to capture the nutrients in food that would otherwise go to waste.
Some digestive disorders prevent the body from making enough enzymes, such as lactose, gluten, egg and grain intolerances – which are becoming increasingly common.
If the small intestine does not have enough of the right enzymes after eating, it produces bacteria which causes uncomfortable symptoms like excessive gas, bloating and cramps.
Natural Sources of Digestive Enzymes
Eating fruits, vegetables, and other foods like honey, apple cider vinegar and live yogurt can improve your digestion.
- Raw honey contains amylase and protease.
- Fermented foods like sauerkraut, apple cider vinegar and live bioactive yogurt produce some digestive enzymes during the fermentation process.
- Avocados have the digestive enzyme lipase.
- Mangos and bananas have amylase and papaya has a type of protease called papain.
- Other foods coning some digestive enzymes include ginger, kefir, kiwi, and pineapples.
What are the Benefits of Glucosamine and Chondroitin with MSM?
Glucosamine and Chondroitin are herbal supplements used to manage pain from arthritis. On occasion, MSM is added as an additional supplement.
Painful symptoms of osteoarthritis appear when the cartilage wears down and the bare bones rub together.
- Glucosamine and Chondroitin play a part in joint flexibility.
- Glucosamine and Chondroitin are used in veterinary medicine to treat osteoarthritis.
- MSM has anti-inflammatory benefits.
What is Cartilage?
Cartilage is the flexible connective tissue that protects and cushions the bones and keeps them from rubbing against each other.
As people get older, the cartilage breaks down and becomes less flexible leading to joint deterioration, pain, inflammation, and tissue damage.
People with arthritis, especially those with osteoarthritis, could benefit from using Glucosamine Chondroitin with MSM.
What is Glucosamine?
Glucosamine is made in the body from fructose and the amino acid glutamine. It is also produced from the exoskeleton of shellfish or by the fermentation of grains such as wheat or corn. This protein helps your body build cartilage around your bones, near the joints and keeps it lubricated for better movement and flexibility.
What is MSM?
An organic sulfur found in fruits, vegetables, grains, and milk. It helps support muscles and tendons, can improve joint pain or swelling, and has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. Sulfur helps produce collagen, and it aids in the production of immunoglobulins which help the immune system.
What is Chondroitin?
Chondroitin sulfate is found in the body as part of the tissue that cushions the joints. It can be found in animal-based foods such as bone broths, or stews. Believed to help the body maintain fluid and flexibility, slowing cartilage breakdown and stimulating cartilage growth.

Added new review after being on supplements for 3 months:
These have literally been a lifesaver.
In October, inaccurately diagnosed with H. Pylori, started on triple antibiotic therapy, and even after having allergic reaction to the antibiotics, the GP had me continue them. (I know, it was crazy.) Shortly thereafter, basically suffered from failure to thrive (lost 20 pounds, unable to gain it back) had generalized fibromyalgia type pains, heart palpitations, reflux symptoms, and still have mid-back arthritic type pains lingering to this day. Went to GI specialist in Jan for upper and lower scopes, all normal, and no evidence of ever having H. Pylori, nor any reflux. Cardiac work up normal. In Jan I had googled post antibiotic syndrome (because all symptoms started after the antibiotics) and ran across an article from a missionary that experienced similar symptoms after antibiotics but was helped after being seen at University of Utah and replacing digestive enzymes... The enzymes she for which she was found to be deficient are many of the same enzymes listed in this supplement. She started her slow recovery after replacing them, so I googled the that list of enzymes and found this product to try for myself ... Have been taking them since Jan. Have slowly put back on 15 pounds and feeling more normal again. From what I understood, the reasoning behind the research I found for why the enzymes work was that the antibiotics damaged the small intestine wall at the cellular level and digestive enzymes were needed to help digestion and prevent my body from having an inflammatory response. Feel free to research for yourself... And no one in the GI or medical world will believe you, except for maybe a sympathetic neuro that understands inflammatory response... Hope this helps in any way!
Around 2 years ago, I started having constant chronic stomach pain. I also had symptoms similar to pancreatitis. Trips to the ER, doctor, and GI doctor didn't help. Because my bloodwork was always perfect, I wasn't offered much help. I was passed off and told to see a surgeon to remove my gallbladder, even though I wasn't having gallbladder issues and my HIDA scan showed it was functioning. I started doing some research to see if a digestive supplement would help, and chose Digestive Enzymes since it appeared to have EVERY digestive aid, including lactase (I am also lactose intolerant so everything helps lol).
Within a couple days I my pain was to a 0-1 and my stomach function was very close to how it was before I started having problems. I take one in the AM and will take one or two more for meals depending on what I eat. I waited a month to review because I wanted to provide a helpful review. I hope someone reads this and saves themselves from years of pain and unnecessary medical expenses, and it encourages them to try it. Also, Zenesis Labs emailed me after my purchase to make sure everything was OK with the product and for my feedback. In a very impersonal world, that kind of customer service and access to the company is very rare. I still have to watch what I eat, but it is a relief to know that if I overdo it or eat something that I shouldn't that I won't be sick and in pain for days like I used to.
Although I don't plan to return to many of those foods, It's good to know I can enjoy a slice of cake on occasion without experiencing the digestive discomfort. GREAT STUFF IN MY OPINION!
