Works flawlessly in 2009 Mercedes

I looked long and hard before purchasing this PCMCIA converter and plugging it into my Mercedes as, like so many others - clearly, there have been more than a few instances of people wiping their COMAND system. I paired this unit with a generic 32GB Scandisk micro SD card (via insertion into a standard SD card adapter - which then plugged into the PCMCIA PC card). I loaded the micro SD card up with about 6 GB of music (all MP3 format) and it worked flawlessly.

Of note, the PCMCIA card is a snug fit into the car's slot (not tight, but definitely snug) and it is far easier to remove the spring-ejectable SD card (technically the SD adapter holding my micro SD card) than it is to remove the whole PCMCIA card and then disassemble the three tier system to load/reaload data onto the actual memory device, so this will be my MO going forward.

For the record my car is a 2009 S class MB. If anyone is considering this unit for their car of similar vintage, I feel comfortable saying this set-up works just fine.

Handy adaptor for older computers with PC/MCIA slots

Handy adapter if your confuser is old enough to have PC/MCIA slot. In my old Dell C640 it is used to transfer files to an SD card. SD cards are a whole lot easier to store and/or mail than a thumb drive!

Data transfer rate isn't any better than a USB-connected adapter, which disappointed me a little, but still this lets me run my USB hub at the same time, which I could not do with a USB card reader I bought earlier.

Works exactly as advertised; replaced an older Sandisk 6-1 PCMCIA card reader which only read up to SDHC formats (32GB) with this one - lets me read 128GB cards - exactly what I needed. As for read/write speeds - the PCMCIA adapter interface has always been painfully slow - and I have a USB card adapter which is much faster - but this slides in the PCMCIA slot and stays there. Installed in my trusty Dell D620, which has no SD-card slot. WIN 10 had no probs recognizing it.

Works with Honda Civic Navigation

WORKS with 2006 Honda Civic Hybrid with Navigation. I tried my 4GB Sandisk as well as a 32GB Sandisk and both cards were read without any trouble in my Honda Civic. However, when more than 4GB of audio files were loaded onto the 32GB Sandisk the Navigation system would stutter and not play audio files correctly from the disk. The factory navigation unit appears to have some limit on RAM. Anyway the adapter works just great.

This unit is functional but not very fast in Windows XP Home, SP3. My USB 2.0 flash drives run considerably faster than this adapter, even when using an exFAT formatted SDXC card. While my primary goal was to use it to free up USB ports so as to load files from SD cards, I was hoping to be able to use it for editing video as both of my cams use all SD formats . At 1.6mbps MAX I won't be doing any video editing. However if there is something I can do with my environment to speed up the unit, I will. Thanks again.

Works Perfect for my HP Convertible Tablet

Works perfectly for my HP Convertible tablet. I needed a way to store about 50 gig of data on the tablet without burning up disk space and this worked perfectly. Pulled out the PCMCIA cover, slide the unit in, popped in a 64 gig SDXC card, copied the data onto the card and it works likes a charm. This adapter with the SDXC card installed does not stick out from the tablet, so no chance of me breaking it off by accident, like the flash drive sticking out of the USB port. I would recommend this product.
