It's clear that most reviewers have never used a well made caliper or simply have zero expectation for tolerances.

I realize this is a budget item, and I tempered my expectations as much as possible. I had no expectation of receiving something close to some of the high end Japanese, Swiss, or German calipers I've been lucky enough to use on a few occasions. With that being said, this is more a novelty than anything I would place the slightest bit of trust in. It clearly states an accuracy to .02mm, which I didn't expect to be realistic, but it's not even accurate to 1mm, that's at least 50 times worse than what's stated!

Here's the real problems with this:

First, off my locking screw is bent out of the package making it it's almost impossible to turn. It's not removable either, or at least I didn't try hard enough in fear of breaking it off, so I have a caliper that is very difficult to lock into place, and I can't easily replace the screw. It's only a matter of time before it snaps off, and I'll have either a useless frozen caliper or one I can't lock at all. They obviously packaged it this way, so clearly there is no quality control.

It's difficult to slide even with the screw backed out. I didn't expect a smooth tool for this price, so I'm not even deducting for this, just pointing it out.

Second, and more importantly, there isn't anything close to a precise measurement with this. What I specifically mean, is that I can measure the same object 10 times, and get 10 completely different measurements for it. To be clear, I tested this on several titanium and stainless steel parts with very high tolerance standards just to make sure there was no deviation in the material I was testing this on.

Garbage. Last digit on the display went bad (not changing) after only three different times used. After fifth time used, entire display is frozen in place. Tried resetting using enclosed instructions, but it will not reset.

I bought these to measure OAL (overall length) of case cartridges for ammunition reloading. These are low end calipers and this is evident in the construction. I wanted a caliper that I wouldn't worry about breaking. The digital readout it nice but there is a lot of "slop" or "play" in the slide which could affect measurements. Also I noticed that the readout can be erratic with the last digit. If I had a do-over I would not have bought these and spent the extra money and paid $30 for the Fowler Caliper because I use these at work and prefer them. If you buy these they will work but with a few minor inconveniences.

This is made of stainless steel and of good quality. It seems pretty accurate in measurement. It is easy to switch between metric and imperial. It comes with a case for storage. I am happy with the purchase.

I got a dud . Does not give an accurate reading. It uncalibrates itself while taking a measurement and gives a bogus number. It also turns on by itself and displays random numbers. I replaced the battery with the same results. Didn't save money going the cheap route this time. Maybe I will play the random numbers in lotto.

Received the Calipro Premium 6" Digital Caliper promptly, but found that the digital readout never moves from zeros! The instructions recommend removing the battery for a few moments and reinstalling it to solve that problem -- didn't help. The sensor must be defective. Strikes me as poor quality.

The seller promptly provided a refund, which is nice. The product however, is low quality and I do not recommend it.

Did the job quit nicely. Has both English & Metric read out. A neat case to protect it too.
Do not forget to zero it out before measuring. Turns itself off just in case you forget. Nice large readable display.
Why I needed it? I had a switch failure on my easy chair wand that control the motor for lifting you in & out of the chair.
No replacement switch so I got a (up) off (up) switch as close as i could to the hole in the wand and cut the hole as measured with this Caliper.

As expected for $12, the quality is pretty low. The slide action feels gritty and the beam edges are sharp enough to be slightly uncomfortable to hold. I compared the accuracy to two other sets of digital calipers, one Mitutoyo ($112) and one chinese no-name model I paid $30 for around 10 years ago (littlemachineshop product# 1758). The readings from the other two sets were always within 0.0005" of each other, but these ones were usually off by about 0.001" and sometimes as far off as 0.003". They also didn't return to zero very well. When closed, they often read somewhere from -0.001" to 0.001". The other two almost always return to 0.0000. In conclusion...they aren't too bad for the price, but if you care about accuracy and/or "quality feel" find something better.
