My three big issues with the default pen that comes with the Surface are: a) it feels super cheap, like a 5 cent mechanical pencil... between how light it is and the surface texture, I didn't like holding it. b) There was a dead-zone with the tip - the moment the nib touched the glass, there was about half a mm of slop before the pen started registering which made fine work in photoshop difficult, and finally it only had one button - two are vital for photoshop when you often don't have a keyboard available. So, with all those issues, I gave this pen a try and I have to say, it's fantastic! - First, it doesn't feel cheap at all. While not as substantial as say a Wacom pen, it has a great surface texture, is a little thicker and just /feels/ like a better made product. It doesn't feel cheap and disposable like the Surface pen did. - Second, probably the most important thing. There is no dead zone on the tip. As soon as the nib makes contact with the screen, the slightest pressure will register, there was no wobble room that made it hard to tell if i was going to lay down ink or not. - Finally, It's a two button stylus. The only other 3rd party two button stylus out there is like 80 bucks (the mod-book pen), so this is a fantastic deal! Low quality replacement.

I purchased to use with an X200T. I've purchased this as a back-up pen before, and the performance was below original pen (I have one of both). Nevertheless, I lost my previous back-up pen, so i figured I would order another one.

The new pen is detected by my X200 Tablet screen, and I could scribble, so i thought all was well. When I actually got around to writing with the pen a few months later, I found that the behavior was sporadic, and could not write anything! Changing the tip did not help. The pen either stuck in full-depressed mode (meaning that the pen would interact with the screen even when not touching the screen), or would have trouble being detected at all.

I may have gotten unlucky, and obtained a bad pen. Nevertheless, only the eraser works properly, so I have decided the throw away the pen. I only wish I had realized this earlier, so I could go through the replacement process.

Appears defective pens are being sold

Great Stylus, but one was defective. The defective one would write about half an inch above the screen, as in not even touching the screen made this thing wright. The other pen works perfectly, just like a normal pen and paper. I had to reorder another one, as I let my girlfriend keep the working one for her Surface Pro, and I'm just waiting for the replacement to arrive for mine.

Great lenovo pen, but began drawing with pen merely hovering after a year

I loved(d) it! However, about 1 year after purchasing, RIP stylus =/ Instead of allowing me to rest my hand on the screen and write just like I would with a real pen and paper, the pen began drawing/marking the screen when just hovering inches above it; obviously, this was not conducive to taking notes. I tried replacing the tip, making sure it was inserted properly, and re-calibrating the pen on my lenovo to no avail. I still have it lying around in a drawer in case someone tells me a solution to the problem, as I really loved this stylus and it's hard adjusting to the dinky one that stores in the laptop.

NOT OEM

Bought it from easybuyus fulfilled by Amazon (whenever I saw fulfilled by amazon i trusted the product. not anymore). This is NOT the OEM product! It is not as accurate as my old lost one when writing. DON'T put it into your tablet unless you have a tether attached to it so that you can pull the pen out when it stucks. Don't panic either if it is already too late when you see this message. Just take off several screws from the back of your thinkpad tablet and take the keyboard out. You will see the pen and then everything is pretty easy. It took me five minutes to get it out in my x230.

Not quite OEM but works

Worked for 6 months before it started to break and never popped out of the laptop slot as easily as the OEM pen. Now needs to be bent while writing to complete some electric connection in the pen to write. Wasn't quite as heavy as the OEM pen so I don't think it's OEM but it does fit in the laptop and worked like the OEM one did.

Update:
Order a second one to replace the old broken one and the new one cam broken out of the box. The tip of the digitizer acts as if it is always depressed so when writing on the tablet all words are chained together unless you lift your hand a whole 2 inches off the screen. Any time the pen gets within an inch of the screen it begins writing. If the tip of the pen isn't touching the screen it should act like a point not as if it is writing.

Amazon refunded me and I'm returning it but I can't recommend it since their quality control seems so poor.
