Jessica Spinelli was born and raised in New York. After graduating with her Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism from St. John’s University and spending five years in the publishing industry, she decided to switch gears by earning a Master’s Degree in Media Studies from New School University.

Spinelli has worked as a television associate producer on shows for channels such as TLC, Travel Channel, Discovery Channel and National Geographic. Her creativity travels through many outlets, and she enjoys directing and producing short videos, as well as painting, fashion, and writing.

This book is compelling from beginning to end. Spinelli’s writing has an easy rhythm that drags you by the heart through every brain stormed conflict Xavier encounters. He’s no doubt had it rough from childhood but seems the fates just keep the hits on coming. It’s hard not to root for him but when his demons get larger and more demented you want so very badly to shake him back to reality. Sex, drugs, rock-n-roll – yeah, this book has it all and then some! I never saw it coming.

Very interesting and gives you an insight to a life that one may not be familiar with. It makes you think how other people grow up in very difficult situations and how they can try to create a better life for themselves. It is a necessary book to read for those who are not involved with drugs or did not have a terrible childhood to see how the other people may live and to not be so judgemental about people who are unfortunately in this situation. It makes you think. It is almost a book that you would want someone to read and see how difficult life can be.
