This item was a perfect fit for both me and the bicycle. It raise the handle bars up so that my back no longer aches after 20 or 30 miles. The bolt was the perfect length and it slide on like a glove. I did not have any issues with the cables on my bicycle not reaching. When riding it feels fine, its as if the bike came from the manufacturer with this piece attached. Also it doesn't weight a ton, its much lighter than I expected.

After discovering how uncomfortable my bike was and that unlike the bikes of my childhood, I couldn't just raise the steering tube, I discovered this steering tube extender. It's easy to install and works like a charm.

Needed to add some height to fork stem that had been previously cut. Worked well & didn't look
like a "band aid". Note of caution......you may need to replace your cables if they don't have enough
"slack" to accommodate added height.

This stem extender does exactly what it is supposed to do. I had to really torque the stem bolt to properly seat the headset bearings, but that wasn't a problem as it's very easy to tell when it's not tight enough (the fork wiggles in the head tube, especially while braking).

I use this to raise my bars on my GT Zum. The only complaint I have, it only comes with one shaft bolt. My bike needs a longer bolt so I'll have to find one at a hardware store that will work. It also has a plastic cap that will strip easily.

I don't care how "dorky" it may look to all the purist out there - it works. The owner of my LBS (local bike shop) added this to the bike of my dreams - a 2011 Raleigh Sojourn touring road bike. I can finally get back on a road bike without my lower back killing me within 6 - 7 miles. 20, 25 even 30 mile rides are not out of the question with no pain.

I realize 30 miles doesn't sound like a lot to those who have completed "Century Rides". But consider having degenerative bone disease in the lower back & arthritic knees - then try it. Enough said?

After age 50, the low handlebar position of my mid-like crisis bike was aggravating an age-related neck problem. Using this component to elevate my handlebars reduced the aches in my neck.

I chose this one piece design rather than buy a similar component of a welded design from another manufacturer. It looks better and might be of higher quality.

Be aware, installing this part might require changing to a longer front brake cable.

Relief for my aching neck & upper back!

I purchased a Specialized hybrid bike with the flat mountain bars. The back of my neck and about 3 inches below would ache within 30 minutes while on a ride and I also was getting arm and hand numbness, even though I have isozone grips. Finally I said "enough!" Popped into my local bike shop last week and had them look at my position on the bike. The fitter suggested a steerer tube extender and this is the very model he brought out to try on my bike. The additional 3 inch height to the handlebars was what I needed. I also had to get the cabling redone on my bike since the original brake and shifter cables were too short to accommodate the increased height, but I knew that was going to happen. It was a costly but necessary fix to allow me to get the upright riding position I needed. Don't suffer in pain.
