Top customer reviews
Firstly, the size. I wear an 8.5, and I ordered an 8.5. My foot isn't wide or narrow. Just a normal foot. With thick socks, these still fit great. I have no problem getting these on at all. They slip right on. They're as hard to take off as any cowboy boot. A hard tug and you're good. If you have wide feet, you may need a size up. If you have narrow feet, a size down or some thick socks. This is not because these boots run big or small, this is to accomodate the proper width if your foot.
Secondly, comfort. I love them. The heel is the right height to walk around in but still feel feminine. I like a heeled boot because I like to stomp around like Bill Hickok, but that's me. Some reviews noted a bump in the heel, and I can sort of see what the mean. If you wear these sans socks (which you shouldn't) it may bother you. But I couldn't feel it in socks and after three days of breaking them in, I can't feel any sort of bump at all. As far as general comfort, they were stiff at first. That's because they're genuine leather boots. They broke in like butter in about a day or two. They're very comfortable now. I have a pair of Double H Opanka Packers that I've worn for years, and these are already more comfortable than those are.
Thirdly, they just look great. They look great with a dress, they look great with jeans, they look great under baggy pants or with leggings tucked in them. They look great with blue, black, red, white, patterned, and I assume most anything you could come up with. But they certainly look great with everything I've got.
I really just love these. I've worn boots for most of my life and these are in the top three, if not at the top. Beat any pair of Dr. Martens I've ever worn, that's for sure. If you know boots and you like boots, and if you know genuine leather and know it breaks in, and if you know what your shoe size really is, I say you can't go wrong. If not, maybe stick to Rocket Dog.
Update- I've had these boots a few years now and aside from me wearing the heel out (which was easily fixed by a shoesmith) they've held up nicely. There are some spots where the color is faded but I also don't do a good job of cleaning or oiling them. They're not an every day boot for me, but I really like wearing them now that they've broken in. The footbed is a little thin so maybe a insert would be good for being on your feet or walking a lot.
