My youngest is 24 years and I still remember this book just about word for word.
"The Panda Palace opened at six one night.
All the tables were empty. The room was just right.
As the diners arrived, they were graciously greeted.
Mr. Panda himself helped each one get seated."
I remember with great clarity the dramatic voices my mom gives to the lions. "Traffic was AWful, the bumps were bad too...We are so glad to be here. Is there a table for two?"
I have no idea why this book became a classic for us, but it is and it always will be. I can assure you that you and your child will enjoy it, and maybe it will be a classic for you, too.
