"A beautiful new book featuring all of the Dior Fine Jewelry collections called Dior Joaillerie is available today. Lovers of bling aren't the only ones who will fall for this photographic tome: the glitzy, avant-garde creations of designer Victoire de Castellane are bona fide art objects that toe the line between humor and extravagance. Who wouldn't want a piece her jewelry box? Here are a few gems from the book." ~Marth Stewart Living: Weddings
"Since launching Dior Fine Jewelry in 1998, Victoire de Castellane has revolutionized the world of high jewelry design. Renowned as one of the most creative and fearless jewelry designers in the world, she is considered a trailblazer for her use of colored gemstones to create haute couture rings, necklaces, brooches, and earrings. In the first book to celebrate the timeless beauty and craftsmanship of Dior’s fine jewelry designs, DIOR JOAILLERIE (Rizzoli; March 2012) offers readers a look inside the creative brilliance of de Castellane’s work." ~Fashion Gossip

The book is large and filled with full color photos as well as reproducing some artistic sketches.
The book is divided into chapters, each dealing with one of the motifs inspiring the illustrated pieces e.g.Couture, Roses, Belladone Island...etc. Each chapter is briefly introduced to explain the significance of each theme. At the end there is a photo index documenting the materials used to create each piece.
The only issues that I have with this book, is that some of the pieces are shown against a black background so the details are not that clear compared to the ones set against white backgrounds. I would have also liked to know the date of each piece. With that being said, the book is an attractive addition to any jewelery and fashion collections as it is the first comprehensive record on this subject.
