From the Author
This book contains lessons and principles I've learned while directing games over the last decade. I've been fortunate to work with many talented individuals at Insomniac Games on the Ratchet & Clank series, Oculus VR projects, and other high profile titles. These tips came not only from my experience of developing games, but also are the universal mantras and revelations I've heard discussed by other game creators.
What you will (potentially) read has been a passion project for me. I enjoyed illustrating all 101 plus tips and sharing what I've learned as a director. I wrote the book I wish I could have read before getting started in developing games. These principles apply to more than just game direction, and can be beneficial to those who are interested in how to better collaborate with a creative team and develop ideas that resonate with their audience.
I hope you enjoy Directing Video Games: 101 Tips for Creative Leaders and it helps you on your path to becoming a successful and creative person!
All the best,
-Brian

Top reviews from other countries
Overall this is so basic that I’m not sure how helpful it really has. It’s a bit of a wasted opportunity as the idea for a book was pretty cool.
Although the book is directed at creative leads it contains valuable information for designers of all experience levels, game design lecturers and researches, and other game developers wanting to learn more about design.
I myself have been working in the game development industry for about 8 years as a Level Designer and I ordered the book as soon as it was available on Amazon. I wasn't disappointed at all and I read through the whole book in one evening.
Brian demonstrated his vast knowledge he gained from being the Creative Director on some of the most popular video games and presented it in a clear, concise way.
The book is also available at an affordable price and comes in multiple formats.
Highly recommended!
