Couldn't ask for a better game. It was cheap and keeps me entertained for hours. Has great graphics of the cars weight movement. Plenty of different game modes and hidden challenges. Also, I was looking for an easy racing game so my girlfriend could play as well. With that being said, the game is not heard to learn and understand. Pretty straight forward.

This game is the best, really nice graphics, great physics (except for landing when jumping, but this makes it fun to play), you are able to setup the difficulty of the game with the advance settings which is very useful when you feel that casual is too easy but the hardest level is way too much. Now it has offline two player races and can have a single race without entering career mode!!!!!!!, the Gymkhana parks are very fun to play, you can spend lots of hours just trying to do the stunts asked in just one park, and I think there are like 3. If you like cars and racing, this IS THE GAME!. When GT5 came out I was going to buy it, but it was a big deception, you can't even get out of track cause you'll hit an invisible shield (what a shame) and dirt look very bad, it disappears when you go through it . On the other hand in this game I have found no flaws. You can even upload your replays to youtube, which may take some time but it worth it.

You get Rally, Rally Cross, Land Rush, Trail Blazing, Gymkhana, Baja. On asphalt, dirt and snow.

Pros: Great Graphics, single race, offline multiplayer (2), physics, dirt looks, snow tracks, flash backs, you can choose between old or new cars even 60's (60's,70's,80's,90's) on some kind of races.

Cons: Not so real when landing a jump(this may not seem as a con for everybody), some times the game crashes when using flash backs continuously (just like 2 times) and some times you really need to use the flashback.

Look at the facebook page of dirt3, there are links to the video uploads users have done.

Let me start by saying Dirt 3 is a good game. If you are looking for a solid off-road racing game, look no further. The game looks fantastic, controls are spot on, and there is variety in vehicle selection to keep things lively. Having been a huge fan of Dirt 2, I was pretty excited to get my hands on a copy of Dirt 3. Their claim that they are returning to their rally roots only heightened this excitement. I was confused by the game cover, but I also realize they need to turn a profit and get as many people to buy their game as possible, so in my mind they were just trying to reach out to people who do not find WRC style-racing their cup of tea. In my mind, a rally oriented game should have you spending most of your time pretty much raising against the clock and occasionally seeing other racers on the track. I didn't care much for the X-games feel of Dirt2, but Dirt 3 doesn't feel all that different to me. A lot of time and effort was put into the Gymkhana events and X-Game events are still there.

There are six main race modes:
rally- point to point racing where you have a co-driver helping you navigate to the finish line.
trailblazer- point to point racing where no co-driver assists you and faster vehicles are available.
head2head- You are on a track and you race another driver (with no contact possible).
Landrush- You race around a track in either trucks or buggies (full contact).
RallyCross- You race around a track in cars (full contact).
Gymkhana- You perform "tricks" to gain points to beat the competition.

To me, only the first two count as rally but a fair amount of time is given to each racing mode. Head2head, Landrush, and rallycross offer a nice variety to the mix and keep things fresh. And Gymkhana....well I'm not sure how that fits in there. Many people are thrilled to have it, but I saw it as a nuisance. You perform the same tricks over and over and over again. Basically you need to master drifting and driving around in a circle without falling asleep (think NASCAR, but a MUCH tighter circle).

But my biggest gripe about the game have to do with DLC. At the time of this review the game has been out for less than a month and content was just released that you need to pay for. This is no secret, one glance at the trophy list reveals that at this point there will be additional content to come. This does not bother me. What DOES bother me as that when you play the game you are constantly reminded that you do not have access to all the vehicles. I will need to go the PSN store to download what ends up being five cars for six dollars. This has left me with the impression that I do not have a complete game. I bought the game at full price, but I did not get the full product. I understand having additional content, as well as the VIP Pass, but do I need to be reminded of it every single time I want to race? This has left me with a sour taste in my mouth for this game. I am sure many people have no problems with this, but consider what your garage will look like when all DLC content is out (and especially if you ended up buying the game used and do not want to buy the VIP Pass). As of now I have no plans of buying the DLC.

I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but I have seen only positive reviews, and the 1-star reviews for this game on Amazon are pretty much non-reviews. I just feel like a few things should be highlighted to give a broader picture of what the game has in store for those who buy it. For many, these issues will not apply.

Dirt 3 (despite all of this complaining) is still a great game, and in terms of off-road racing I have not played anything that compares to it with the exception of Dirt 2. But put simply, if you are looking for an off-road racer this is the game you are looking for.

This is one of the BEST driving games of all time! While dirt 1 had a few issues, Dirt 2 and Dirt 3 are awesome! I use it with an older Logitech wheel and peddles that I used on my old PS 3 and it works great. This game is not only a challenge, but beautiful to look at and the handling, force feedback, and all are great. It's also fun and the fireworks at the end of most races adds to the enjoyment. Don't hesitate to buy this classic!

Dirt 1 and 2 are better. There are parts of this that are good, but so much of it is drifting, and it is not that exciting. Yet you have to do them to unlock the rest. Don't bother

You gotta love this game! The graphics are astonishing, weather conditions, drifts, damage on the car...everything looks so real. However, don't play on easy level as it helps you too much and you can't make a mistake. It helps you brake, it shifts your gears before making hard turns and so on. Use at least intermediate level. You will get more reality. It is hard to steer with dualshock so I would have to try steering wheel. Anyone who likes racing games will like this one for sure and even those who are sceptical about racing will have to try it to give any additional comments. This game is must have. Highly recommended.

The game is as fun as a Dirt game can get, top notch graphics and good controls for pros and newbies alike. However, there's no granularity to any difficulty level as in you can't turn on/off any assists one by one. It's either all on or all off, nothing in between. The soundtrack is also great (electronic) as well as the car selection which does not fall short.
Also, please refrain yourself from purchasing this game from the Amazon marketplace, the game I got was for region 2 (Europe) and VIP pass did not work on my US PSN account. I just ended up returning mine and buying retail for full price.
I'm giving this three stars despite all the goods because:

a) you can't play online without a VIP pass so 0 resell value
b) Codemasters force you into buying events to fully unlock the game - that's on top of the $60 price tag for the game.

This game has fascinating graphics, cool cars, great sound, and overall great gameplay. The steering is very responsive and quick. The cockpit mode also adds nice challenge to it by restricting your field of view a little for a realistic feel. Most races are on dirt or snow. Not a lot on actual road. But it's a blast to play and has a lot of character.

Dirt 3 is an excellent video game, a truly worthy successor to Dirt 2, which was a digital and technological masterpiece. The vehicles in the game are very much subject to the laws of physics. One must acheive a balance between speed and centrifugal force for every curve. As in the cases of the proceeding Dirt games, accidents have consequences for vehicles. In Dirt, cars become dented and will disintegrate to the point of being undrivable - and of course- they will get dirty.
