I recommend you pick up a book, any book, by Annie Rose and fall in love with the gorgeous, lushly detailed and emotionally rich storytelling. I have Lotus Blossom Lane next on my TBR stack. I am so glad these books where brought to my attention. Each one I've read gets added to my favs shelf. I LOVE them.
The Queen of Tarts
This was the second book I've read by Annie Rose Welch, and I was pleased to see glimpses from the first book appearing in book two. I am looking forward to diving into the third book of the Saving Angels series soon and seeing how these stories will continue to interweave and connect to one another. I can tell that this series is going to stick with me for a very long time! (I keep thinking Fight! Fight! Fight!)
I reviewed this book on behalf of A Book Lover's Emporium book blog.
When this story starts and we meet the beautiful Layla, nicknamed Lotus, my heart was thumping so loud. My blood was pumping through my ears. She experiences loss after loss, believing that death finds her loved ones. I felt like I was drowning and wandered where this story was going, was it going to be a seriously sad story? I was surprised how smooth the transition was from how Layla was when we first read her traumatic loss to where she was traveling with her Uncle and his band. She seemed like she was coping, and going through life pretty decent until she meets Michael.
Michael is a mystery. He is intense, but vulnerable. He is hard muscle, but soft heart. This Irishman’s heart and soul belongs to Lotus and he will always put her safety first. He fights and instead of seeing an alpha male gritty, we are gifted with seeing an alpha male move gracefully. He is music.
“One day you are going to find your angel, the one who is strong enough to be near you.” This is Michael.
Lotus is stronger than we realize. We know she is beautiful, captivating, and most of all she is funny. Up against an evil that is so strong, it will be through her that she will have to fight the biggest fight for her life and for the love of her life, Michael.Read more ›

After reading Marigny Street I could not wait to dive into Red Dirt Road. It warns us at the beginning that it is not a continuation of Eva's story.

Like many others I had hoped this was a continuation of Marginy Street but I also understand that some characters need to have their story told sooner than others. Read morePublished on July 25, 2014 by aleblanc

At first I thought I would be disappointed that Red Dirt Road, the second book in the Saving Angels series, had an entirely new cast of characters, but I most certainly wasn't. Read morePublished on April 20, 2014 by Stephanie
