After much internal debate...l can only put it down to the storyline being a little different from Jade's others with the young girl, who was legal before anything sexual took place, but was oh so crying out for love and attention and didn't know any better than to use her body to make people give her what she so desperately needed???
Saying that, i didn't really take to Carrie's character either. I can understand the sexual attraction between them...i mean Jack and Michael were healthy, sexually driven middle aged men, but I can't see how Jack especially would want to "be" with someone so young and immature when he didn't want to be with older, just as sexual, women?
I loved Jack and Michael tho. Jack had a take charge, no bull*#*t attitude but was also sweet with a big heart, which complimented Michaels more reserved character, quietly giving Michael the push he needed when he was struggling within his head for the right thing to do.
Dirty Daddies was a story with a strong message about giving someone a chance and loving them regardless, as well as it doesn't matter what sex you are, love is equal, no judgement!
This ended with the option for a follow up, but don't worry it wasn't a cliffhanger.
I don't think ive ever given Jade West less than 5 stars but im sorry to say I'm giving this one 4 stars.
He's attracted to her, but fights it because he lives in a small town and people will talk. His friend Jack ends up being dragged into the whole rescue mission and he too is attracted to Carrie despite the age differences.
It's him that works out that Carrie just needs someone to discipline her. Someone who will protect her and care for her, no matter how much trouble she is. With the right care, she can learn to love and trust. The right care from two men.
Again, another great read by this author.
This is a story about a teenage girl who's about to age out of the foster system and the social worker who is trying desperately to help her, in spite of her behavior and attitude!
The girl has been shifted from caseworker to caseworker, from foster family to foster family, because she pushes everyone away, sometimes violently. Her experience had always been that everyone leaves her anyway, so if she doesn't let them get close to her, it won't hurt as much when they, too, leave her.
But this social worker is different. He won't leave. He won't give up on her, no matter how rude, how surly, how truly vicious she gets. He just lets her rant and rave and when she's done, he gets back to the issue at hand. The issue this time is where will she go when she turns 18? Because her purposefully horrible, nasty behavior has alienated her current foster family to where they are done with her! They want her out of their home and out of their lives!
Now, even though the girl will no longer be his responsibility, the social worker can't get her out of his mind! You see, he's in love with her, but he knows he can never act on his feelings because he would be fired from his job, if not brought on criminal charges. Besides, she's just too young! At least that's what he tells his best friend. And his friend agrees and tries to talk him into walking away, but he can't, he WON'T abandon her!
When the girl runs away from her foster home, the social worker searches for her, but when he finds her he doesn't know what to do with her! He can't take her to his apartment, because one of his co-workers lives downstairs and he's sure to be reported! Luckily, his friend is out of town for a few days, so he parks her in his house until he can figure something else out. But things get interesting when his friend comes home earlier than expected!!
Anyway, I happily recommend this book to anyone looking for story that is well thought out with both well developed characters and a believable plot. And that's saying something for "daddy" stories. Just one piece of advice: Bring your tissues! I know I had to keep mine handy!!
