“Hilarious and at times heartbreaking . . .”—Vanity Fair
A New York Times bestseller
Millions of viewers know and love Bob Saget from his role as the sweetly neurotic father Danny Tanner on the smash hit Full House, and as the charming wisecracking host of America's Funniest Home Videos. And then there are the legions of fans who can't get enough of his scatological, out-of-his-mind stand-up routines, comedy specials, and outrageously profane performances in such shows as HBO's Entourage and the hit documentary The Aristocrats.
In his bold and wildly entertaining publishing debut, he continues to embrace his dark side and gives readers the book they have long been waiting for—hilarious and often dirty. Bob believes there's a time and a place for filth. From his never-before-heard stories of what really went on behind the scenes of two of the most successful family shows of all times, with co-stars like John Stamos and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, to his tales of legendary friends and colleagues like Rodney Dangerfield, Richard Pryor, Don Rickles, and other show business legends, Saget opens up about some of his personal experiences with life and death, his career, and his reputation for sick humor—all with his highly original blend of silliness, vulgarity, humor and heart, and all framed by a man who loves being funny above all else.

From the Back Cover
He is the sweetly neurotic father on the smash hit Full House . . .
The charming, wisecracking host of America's Funniest Home Videos . . .
The scatological, out-of-his-mind stand-up comic from Entourage and The Aristocrats . . .
He is Bob Saget, and in Dirty Daddy he delivers uproarious, uncensored, and heartfelt stories from his life in entertainment and beyond.
Bob talks about the connection between humor and pain, and pays homage to the family, friends, and legendary comedians who have shaped and inspired him—Richard Pryor, David Letterman, Billy Crystal, and Robin Williams. Throughout, he shares tales of close friends and colleagues like Rodney Dangerfeld and Don Rickles, and recalls his experiences with show-business legends, including Johnny Carson and George Carlin. Told with his highly original blend of silliness, vulgarity, wit, and heart, Dirty Daddy reveals Bob Saget as never before—a man hilarious and often dirty, yet warm and disarmingly sincere, who loves being funny and making people laugh above all else.

From his humble beginings to his rise as America's favorite Dad, Bob Saget brings laughs and stories that you have never heard before.
You think you know Bob Saget ? Think again ...also pee before reading this book.... you might pee yourself from laughing hard.
Loved your Honesty, Bob. Whenever you went on a tangent, then came back. It was almost like you were standing in my livingroom. Good thing you weren't. My husband would have freaked!
I saw you on a morning talk show speaking about your book, and how your Mom had passed. My condolences.
I, like a lot of others, thought you were squeaky clean. When I heard you were doing stand up and it was considered very dirty, my first thought was, you were grasping for more, when you had plenty. But when I actually saw your stand up, I thought, he has been doing this for a while, not his first rodeo. Then I understood.
I was raised in a household with a bunch of sarcastic, dirty minded boys and two sisters that had to put up with it before I could understand it. Their friends were the same, and somehow my friends were the same. (town stricken by sarcasm and dirty minds by osmosis!)
So, altho my "over 21" sons have realized recently, Momma has a potty mouth and is not afraid to use it. Plus, I realized one of them has my dirty mind.... People still don't understand my being this way. This is me, and apparently you also, plus my youngest who should be doing standup....lol!
Thanks for writing this... now I know its an untreatable disease, and I should roll on with my life, people can think what they want. I blame my brothers.... LOL!
I guess my only criticism would be that I wish there was more "real" Bob Saget and less of the stage persona Bob Saget. I understand these were some difficult subjects to deal with, but here was a bit of rambling. Good book overall. Go get it.
P.S. Signed book plate?? What signed book plate??
