Cliché: I don’t need to really explain this one…was it a typical story that followed very similar storylines that many authors over use? 5 out of 5---->Not going to even front. This was very cliché book, but I knew this even from reading that synopsis of this book.
Humor Me: How funny was the story? The dialog between the characters? 3 out of 5---->I rate this as such because her internal dialog was so funny and relatable (which is how it made it so funny to me!).
Sizzle & Burn: How romantic was the story? And it is also the scale of how steamy things get between the characters that fall in love. 5 out of 5---->Right off, I was so hooked with how things would unfold for Emma between the two brothers. Again, cliché as it was I knew which brother would get chosen from the start.
Called It!: This one is about the mystery behind the crime, situation, or hardship that is going on in the story. Did the author surprise me or did I know who the bad guy/antagonist was all along? 1 out of 5----> No mystery or situation that had me at the edge of my seat, just a good chick lit book that hooked me in with Ryan's style of romantic writing.
Exciting Extras: Did I fall in love with the background characters? How badly did I want to learn or hear more about the story of the main characters friend(s) or family member(s)? 1 out of 5----> Nope, not really a lot of characters that she really went in depth with. Even the main two Ryan wrote mostly of feelings of the characters and a little background. I'm sure which she would explore and write about more in the next installments.
What! It’s Over!: This one is rating how badly I want to read the next book in the series. 1 out of 5----> Unless the next book in the series was free I wouldn't buy to read it.
Emma is a shy librarian and sees Gavin every morning at the coffee shop. She finally gets the nerve to approach him after secretly lusting after him for a month. I loved these two characters chemistry, they both need each other to rescue them from their tragic pasts. Let’s hope they can start a relationship without crashing and burning each other. Read this series to see who can tame the mighty and hamesone Kingsley Brothers.
Good writing, interesting characters, and intriguing storyline.
Not so sure I like that Emma is a replica of Gavin's first love gone wrong, but I get that he has a "type".
