Olivia is an exotic dancer who works in Liam’s club, she’s in a relationship and she thinks Liam is totally off limits not only because he’s her boss but because she thinks he doesn’t like her much. Liam is infatuated with Olivia, she’s all he can think and dream about but she’s got a boyfriend so he just lurks in the shadows watching her every move until… a sudden development allows Liam to come closer to Olivia. And that’s a chance he won’t miss. But both of them have secrets that they aren’t willing to share.
The story is much, much, much darker than what I was expecting. I think that, most of the time, I read it with my mouth hanging open. This may not sound very appealing but let me just say that if you love thrillers and dark romance, you’ll definitely love this one.
Unfortunately, I wasn’t expecting a book this dark, so I struggled a little through it, especially because I couldn’t quite connect with the characters and every time I thought I was getting the story… another twist kicked in. It’s actually hard to write this review because I can’t give away much of the story or I’ll ruin this psychological thriller and all the suspense that comes with it to anyone who’s interested in reading it.
If you want a book full of suspense, twists, turns, steamy scenes, mystery and a totally unexpected ending (I think I’ve read the ending 3 times!) Dirty Love is definitely the right choice.
This was a twisted tale about Olivia, a dancer and the obsession of Liam Black. Olivia has more than just a few secrets in her closet, she has a whole other persona hiding in there, Tess. Olivia and Tess war with each other in the most interesting of ways and when Olivia allows her to come out an play things tend to get tricky.
Liam Black is a powerful and wealthy owner of the club where Olivia dances. He has his sights on her and will stop at nothing to help her when things start to fall apart. The attraction between the two has been around for some time but nothing has come of it until Liam is there at the right time...maybe the wrong time...
This tale takes you down a dark and crazy path and all leads to an ending I never saw coming. I had my theories way back when and it made for a captivating read when I realized my theories were all wrong. This story was sexy with a lot of dark and dirty, throw in some messed up personalities you have what is "Dirty Love". I wanted to love the book but there was just something that kept me from it. It held my attention and had my head spinning. Then we came to end that I NEVER anticipated. There was just something I can't quite put my finger on that didn't sit well for me. I still look forward to what craziness this author might have in store for us next.
I was super excited about this one, Blalock is a talented author who has the ability to grab you by the crotch within the first chapter.
Dirty is a story about Olivia who is an "exotic dancer" (and just so happens to have another personality). Liam Black owns the club that Olivia works at. Mr. Black is a rich, alpha male who can intimidate a person by his presence. Catching his attention can be down right terrifying (for Olivia anyways). When Olivia dances, she tends to step back and allows Tess (her other personality) take over but not completely. Tess seems to be the wild child who likes to test the boundaries and press her luck a little.
Mr. Black owns the building that Olivia and her boyfriend live in. He just so happens to own the apartment on the opposite side of Olivia's which gives him the perfect view of her bedroom from his own. We learn in the prologue that Liam is infatuated with his employee and enjoys rubbing one off while peeping at her sleeping.
I'll save the details so you can read for yourself. The reason I rated this 4 stars is because I felt like there weren't a lot of character development (for Liam or Olivia) and the story jumped from point A to C to E without giving any info on points B & D. It's almost like there's a few chapters missing.
There was one scene where Liam saved Olivia from a drunk man who was pretty persistent on having a conversation with her and "NO" was not a word he understood. Liam nearly chocked the man to death but stops and tells Olivia that the guy slipped a roofie in her drink. Minutes later, they're about to hit a home run in the hallway of the club. **Did she ever drink any of her drink? She mentioned buying one, never talked about sipping on it or feeling different. I'm hoping not since Liam was ready to screw her on the spot**
There's another scene where Liam lies to the cops, yet Olivia never questioned his reasoning for doing so. **odd and I would think anyone (crazy or not) would want to know why someone they barely know was giving a false alibi for them**
