I have to say that I really tried to like this book. Being a Michigan girl, I always get excited when a book takes place in my State so knowing the cities the author talked about was a plus. The sex/romantic scenes were hot for casual sex. To be fair this is what this was supposed to be but turned into more. I could just never buy the chemistry between Zee and Tamara. Most romances you read start off with it’s just casual and you can see it transform into more and I just never got that feeling in this one.
Another thing that disappointed me was that Tamara was cheating. Regardless of if her boyfriend she suspected and then confirms is doing the same. I just think a lady should be more classy than that.
I also had a problem with both of their family dynamics. To start with Zee who’s dad is a crime boss… he goes for years under his dads nose without being caught.. I find hard to believe. And once he gets away from him for good – it was just too easy for my liking. Then there is Tamara who is being controlled by her family. To be put through the crap at work in a company her father owns just didn’t seem right. I can see with starting at the bottom and working your way up the ladder but to have a boss that took advantage, whether she is the boss’s daughter or not – shouldn’t fly.
Things I liked. Tamara finally got a backbone and stood up to her parents. I liked Zee’s drive to be better and help people and his community. I liked that Tamara wanted that also. I liked Zee’s friends even though I wish I could have seen more of them.
I think this book has a good start at the bones of it but the meat needs to be spiced up some, if that makes sense? Working on the chemistry in transition better would be great.
My last rant is the ebook price for this book. $7.99 is too huge of a price to ask someone to pay. In no way am I trying to say that an author isn’t worth it with all the work they put into writing but that is way too much on the pocket book.
Zee Chase ran away from his past, a past entrenched in crime. He wants nothing to do with the wealth and power his father has amassed through illegal means. Dealing with his demons, he’s decided to make a difference in his life. By night he’s an underground MMA fighter and provides self defense classes to women, but by day he’s a mechanic and building his business as an owner of a gym. When he lays eyes on Tamara Eliot whose stepped into his gym, everything about her screams expensive and privileged. He needs to stay away from her kind, he’s been there, done that. But she’s so damn tempting.
Everything about Tamara is a facade. She’s only pretending to like the life her parents has chosen for her. A tragic event in her past leaves Tamara feeling like her compliance is payment for a debt owed to her parents. Her ordered life of rules and expectations has her tied in knots, she can’t take living a lie much longer. When she sets eyes on Zee, she knows he’s exactly the man she needs. With Zee, all her control all melt away and she can truly be herself. She never expected he’d set her on fire, lose her heart to him and never look back. There’s lots of sizzling steam, practically combustible when these two get together. Car sex, public sex. But don’t worry, they don’t get caught. *g* If you’re wanting an easy romance this isn’t it, but these two characters work perfectly. The ending had me worried and anxious over Zee and Tamara, but it was such a satisfying twist at the end, and romantic. And the epilogue rounded this story very nicely. Wonderful job, Ms. Aschenden.

I give this book a solid five stars with no hesitation. As long as you're okay with amazingly well written, detailed sexual encounters, buy this book and read it - and do NOT forget the tissues. I loved these characters <3 Thank you, Jackie, for a great read!
Emotional, heartbreaking, pull you into the story writing. That is just some of the words that come to mind when trying to write this review. This book had me so high on my emotions that I had to take a few days to write the review. Not only are the main character's strong and amazing, the secondary characters are on the same level. I can't wait to read about them.......If you are looking for an emotional, pull at your heartstrings story with intense and steamy scenes then Dirty for Me by Jackie Ashenden is the book.
