Her writing in itself was good....like I said Emma hart is talented and will continue to be....but what I hated about this book is I felt like nothing really happened.
It felt repetative....the h/h are always going back and forth and their inner though out the book consist of the same thing. That got annoying quickly for me ....and a few times I wanted to slap both the main characters. Especially sofie!! I did not like her at all...I got through the whole book still not liking her. The worst flaw in a character is selfiahness......and she was selfish to a degree I didn't know existed. Her reasons for doing what she did are not undeeatandable. I could never so something like that.....it's insane!!! Then there's Collin. I liked him...but....it's hate that he's always holding back....trying to do things to please sofie when in all reality she didn't deserve it. She deserved no compassion....God bless his soul tho...it's felt like sofie did nothing to get back in his good graces.
The book just dragged. ..it's kept waiting for something and nothing other than I want her...but I shouldn't want her" kept Goin on....it got annoying.
Hey that's just my opinion. I'm out numbered here...lol. everyone else loved the book..and that's good for u......MI will be reading more Emma hart books because I still love her. I didn't like this book but that's just this book..there's other works she's written that I've lov3d.
The attraction between the two and ensuing sexual tension is palpable. I loved Conner just as much for his relationship with his family, as with his relationship with Sofie. The Burke clan is very close-knit and the love between them was evident in their playful banter as well as the speed they came to each other’s defense. Those relationships were just as vital to the story as the relationship between the main characters. The book was a bit heavy on the angst and a bit predictable, however it didn’t stop me from getting lost in it and I enjoyed it nonetheless. This is a fast moving, sweet, beach or pool read with a little bit of heat that could easily be devoured in an afternoon. I’m a sucker for second chance romances and this one fit the bill. I fell in love with the Burke brothers and have no reason to doubt many others will too.
I don't like his sister either, she keeps blaming him when Sophie was in the wrong. it felt like the author wanted him to be the "bad guy" and wrote little things so Sophie could freak out. she just seem like a drama queen to me.
