"Disciples of the Beloved One" as the preface says started out as the author's doctoral dissertation and at points reads as such, but I found it to be interesting and entertaining reading and very important in the way it highlights changing perceptions about the composition and authorship of the "Ascension of Isaiah," a pseudegraphon that in my opinion deserves to be much better known. And if Knight is correct about when it was written the work is a unique window into early 2nd century christianity.
